Hi guys! now that the new chapter have been released we got new info about Sanji's background which got me hyped up to make a theory about how he came to that cruise ship and started to learn to be a chef.

Sanji was trained as an assasin by the Vinsmoke family at a young age but apart from his brothers and sisters (if he has one) he was different. Sanji was the type to value the life of another (maybe this can be shown by Oda through him valuing animals and such). His father had great expectations from him as Sanji is quite brilliant in the art of assasination so he trained him passionately.

After years of training Sanji came to the last part of his practice and was given a mission. The mission was to kill his mother and prove to his father his cold blooded heart but Sanji coudnt do it . He couldnt let himself hurt his mother and so his dad did it for him and killed her right infront of poor Sanji's eyes. He left and never wanted to return and swore to his dad that he will never be like him thus having the principle to never hurt a woman.

Sanji now lost, was looking for something to use his skills upon and what better way can he do it but by cooking , where he can utilize his knife skills (shown many times on the series) and so he used this to his advantage and learned cooking as this reminds him of his late mother who loved to cook for lil Sanji. This is how sanji came to be imo.

Thanks for reading this mini story! I hope you like it :D.

TLDR:
Sanji was trained as an assasin even from a young age. Part of his training, he was given his last mission where he was made to kill his mother, which he didnt do thus his father killed her instead infront of the boy's eyes. This act made him hate his father and created the principle of never hitting a woman because hell be like his father if he did and so he left the Vinsmokes. Sanji used his knife skills in cooking instead since it reminded him of his late mother.

What do you think about this theory? post a comment and well talk about it!

He values animals? Who wanted to eat Chopper? Who kills and cooks animals so his Captain can devour them?
Dude i was just making an example of how Oda can show Sanji's "good side" it can be anything Oda thinks, idc hell do it greatly for sure. And another thing sea kings arent animals theyre monsters and chopper, well who doesnt want to eat him?

What if he didn't liked the assassination from the start, and left home and pursued easy going job i.e. cooking. That's why he never uses his hand bcoz assassin generally fight with hands and uses weapon that can be used by hands only and learned the completely opposite way of fighting i.e. kicking.

I'm pretty sure sanjis love for life came from his fight with starvation. At least that is how it was explained at the time.

This could be a possibility, but a more emotional back story like killing a member of his family would suit Oda's style in writing back stories, which are awesome, and would fit more than sanji just being lazy. Also the reason why Sanji doesnt use his hands to fight was because he needed them in cooking and he was also told by Zeff to take care of his hands with his life (stated in manga).

Hmm what i understood from his starvation event was how Sanji understood Zeff's willpower to protect what he thinks is important to him which in this part was his treasure as a pirate. This made Sanji become a man who stands on his ideals and not sway with others.
