The Big 3 anime of all time

1. Pokemon, no question, everybody knows about the Ash and Pikachu duo

2. DBZ, also no question

3. Yugioh, the cards at their prime sold like hot cakes.

This is my list, it goes by most recognizable animes. I don't think any other anime has come close to these 3 in terms of merchandise sales, and familiarity. This list is of all time. Agree?

A lot of Pokemon's fame, popularity, and recognition is due to the video games. If it were a standalone anime, it wouldn't be at the level it is now. The same can be said for Yugioh, although to a lesser degree.

My list would probably be:

-Dragon Ball/DBZ
-Neon Genesis Evangelion
-Gundam (all its iterations) or Sailor Moon

I'd switch DBZ for OP. DBZ is not so much the best as it is the father of the current best, and it's mainly a biased opinion based off childhood for many.

The big names are Dragonball, Cowboy Bebop, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Going off popularity, Bebop (sadly) would probably be replaced by One Piece. Pokémon was originally a game so I don't count it, while Yu-Gi-Oh!'s anime/manga isn't nearly as well-known as its card game, so I wouldn't put it above these three either.
