I'm going with the dog Pein had - if you actually use Gedo to the fullest you have to link it to yourself like Nagato did which cripples you for life. The dog on the other hand is awesome, you have to defeat the user to release the summoning from what we've seen and if you cut it, it just splits and now you have two dogs to deal with.

Gedo Mazo > Kurama > Manda = Pains Dog

For me it's Kurama. he's stronger than all of the other bijuu and he could probably defeat all of the other summonings.
