[Discussion] The Best Current Kage

I'm voting for the best Kage not the strongest and that has to be Gaara because as he was fighting Deidara and had almost lost all chakra he used the last of his chakra to protect his village from the amount of sand that would have landed on them. He could have used that last bit of chakra into a battle but he didn't.

They didnt ask Danzo first because Jiraiya had come back to the village and Jiraiya was a better match than Danzo. Jiraiya didnt want the job so he nominated Tsunade. It was then his job to find her so its not like they begged him to bring her back. She was going to make a deal with Orochimaru to bring back her lost ones to repair his arms. And she was filling in for Jiraiya because if he never came back with her im sure he would have accepted the position. And I know Danzo was just filling in . Personally I think he would have made a terrible hokage lol and tsunade is better at the job. I just think that she definitely isnt the strongest

You said it yourself. She has been nominated. The elders didn't even had a single doubt about her capability.

If you are reading the manga, when Tsunade was in coma, the feudal lords together with the elders had a meeting on who should they elect the next Hokage and they did that through nomination.

It's not his job at all. If there was a better candidate other than Tsunade in the village then Jiraiya doesn't need to go search for Tsunade at all.

I know ranks are just little in narutoverse, but just don't be sure that she isn't the strongest. You might be surprised. She got the other Kages' respect,, if i may tell you.

Tsunade did the most for the village after pein crushed it, to heal all the injured and start rebuilding the village took strength, I cant think of any other Kage that could've saved that many people. There's more to being Kage than whooping a$$. She's worth her weight in gold. Saving lives and keeping people safe is what kages and heroes do.....right?

And to tell the truth sarutobi and danzo weren't that good either both had chances to kill orochi but didn't for different reasons (sautobi tried to show mercy and danzo wanted power) remember when orochi left the village he founded the village of sound and continued his experiments there. With the village of sound so close to the leaf it was nothing for danzo to get worked on by orochi. For that sarutobi and danzo get for thumbs down. They let evil persist and in turn put the village in danger.

Well it's not so clearly who's the strongest. With PURE strength, Tsunade is the strongest. By skills, i think that the Raikage & Tsuchikage are the best. Well ok i guess that the Raikage would be a little bit stronger just by using Raiton Jutsu which is better than the Tsuchikages Doton Element. But the Raikage lost an arm because of Sasukes Amaterasu, so he'll be weaker than before. I also think the Mizukage could be a very strong kage because her 2 Kekkai Genkais. We need to see her in action more often.

which was her whole worth in the pain invasion, she heals better then anyone in the world even on a mass scale, without that she really would be worthless lol.

and tsunade was taunt by sarutobi, how do we know she wouldn't have ended up like danzo or oro without him teaching her the will of fire and having faith in people (like having naruto fight pain) so the same reason he allowed oro to live the first time is what gave us tsunade and narutos dedication to the village now.

Orochi killed villagers to experiment on them, he kidnapped and killed children to experiment on (Yamato). He also did the same with the village of sound. Letting him live wasn't noble it was foolish. How's this if I let the killer of your family and the killer of your neighbors and country men just run off cause... I have a heart would I get a hug or a medal? It's hard to fault sarutobi for it cause he really loved the dude but his mistake cost the ninja world to much. Big hearts make big mistakes ...sometimes.

I didn't say it was noble, it was a big mistake that much is true, but its also because he has such a big heart that he protected naruto and gave his life protecting the village by sealing orochimaru's arms and the hokage's souls even tho they were his teachers it was for the good of the village and the whole world in the end. if he hadn't of sealed himself and the 1st and 2nd kabuto would most likely have his hands on their souls and the shinobi alliance would be most def screwed.

And don't forget jiraiya has stated himself that other than naruto no one else has had him as close to death than tsunade that in itself tells me she very dangerous. Not orochi or hanzo or anyone else they might have faced during there years fight as the legendary three. I believe tsunade might've peaked fighting wise during the war and after losing Dan may have tapered off. It might help if we knew what she was up to other than gambling and drinking but I'm sure she has enemies and she ain't dead yet so that counts. Any ninja would love to make a name for him/herself by taking out one of the three but it hasn't happened yet. Plus chiyo did give her high praise.

Professor you are correct I agree with you, but without oro there's no invasion and no cursed mark,theres also no kabuto. Sarutobi would be alive and the alliance much stronger because of it.

and without naruto's fight with gaara theres no 5th kazekage. so we still have the 4th and his evil psycho son gaara since i doubt deidara would have caught him if it wasn't for his using gaaras newfound love of sand village againest him and gaara would have been willing to use the 1tail's power to fight as well.

and without oro to give him more power i doubt sasuke would have ever been strong enough to fight itachi. So itachi would eventually die from his illness, sasuke would never get his "revenge" and no final boss for naruto to fight lol

and true about the kabuto thing lol but then this war would be pretty boring and over quickly with just madara and a army of zetsu clones that wouldn't even have yamato's power up.

Did she ever fight orochimaru when he had his arms back? i know when j and her fought kabuto and oro he had his arms still sealed and she woulda died if naruto hadn't been there to fight kabuto. and she was the med ninja for the 3 when fighting hanzo, im sure she helped tons esp in team combat shes def the one you want backing you up as far as a healer. but if you can have someone healing and another person helping you fight, shes top on the healing list and bottom on the fighting one.

Very true proff very true, like I said I I think tsunade may have peaked fighting wise during the war. I'm gonna go back and check out the kabuto and tsunade fight, but considering that tsunade, jiraiya and orochi where war heroes I wouldn't put her at the bottom of a fighters list. I'm sure it's possible that when fighting someone that can self heal it makes beating her would be a lot tougher. So maybe there's a difference between old and young tsunade. Young tsunade deff had the will of fire and seemed quite the hot head, much like Sakura. And with her strength prob was a factor. But this new war will show us what's left in the tank. With two of the three gone I don't think she'll survive the war but we'll see.

yep we have no idea at this point, maybe we could atleast guess when the kages join the fight, probably (or just hoping) against itachi/nagto/kazuka

Tsunade's healing abilities are matched by none. She prevented the extinction of the Leaf Village just like Gaara. It doesn't matter if there's someone stronger than her, she is still one of the best Kages for doing what she did. I think it was because of Tsunade's healing abilities and antidotes that they won the previous war (Chiyo or Jiraiya mentioned).

All the Kages right now are strong. Being Kage level is no easy task. To me, Tsuchikage comes off as the strongest out of the Kages. He's old but when he does fight, he's incredibly strong. He also gets right to the point and doesn't get involved in fights that are not his to fight. He is said to be the strongest Tsuchikage and is able to blow up whole islands with a single attack. However, he seems like the most corrupt out of all the Kages with his history with Akatsuki and all . I personally want to see Mizukage. She was able to burn through Susano'o with one of her Kekkei Genkai ability. Best Kage as in leadership and strength would be Gaara.

Danzo was a very interesting character and I personally almost felt sorry for him when he died. His background story was awesome. Danzo had his own way of doing things and no matter how rotten they were, he wanted the same thing as everyone else. He also made tried to do good things undercover such as sending Sai to finish off Sasuke so he wouldn't be a problem in the future. He represented leaders from part(s) of our own world today if you think about it.

Ok, has anyone else stayed this long reading this discussion because of the fight?... just me? hehe xd I won't say which one I agree with, I don't want my head bitten off, let's just say I think one them was right, except in one thing, everyone has a right to like or dislike whatever they please.
Anyway, to answer the question, from:

Tsunade- Hokage (I'm counting her, 'cause I prefer her over Danzo)
Gaara - Kazekage
Mei - Mizukage
A - Raikage
Onoki - Tsuchikage

I have to choose Gaara, why? Because he has awesome powers, was powerful enough to become kage, and protect his whole village against Deidara. And because, even if it isn't really provable that he is the strongest, the other kages are at their peak of their power, he is only 16 or so, he will continue to improve, and get even stronger. You don't get to be the youngest Kage just because your cute and had a sad story (even if he is cute <3 and has a sad story ) and that means something.

Danzo was a super patriot, I don't doubt he loved the village and wanted to keep it safe but somewhere down the line he lost his way. He seemed bitter that sarutobi was chosen as hokage back in the day. It was that bitterness that had him dealing with the likes of orochi, hanzo and madara. Sad with an even sadder ending.
