The Battle With Kaguya Was The Real Final Battle

I don't know, for some reason, the battle with Kaguya seemed like the kind of epic fight that would wrap up the series' plot (like, the previous kages return, Hagoromo is involved, Obito comes full circle and sacrifices himself once again, Madara finally does, and the threat of the Juubi is settled, likely forever, since the Gedo Mazou is locked in another dimension) this upcoming fight seems more like extra, just something to finally wrap up the subplot between Naruto and Sasuke.

Still, it doesn't really feel like a final battle, Kaguya was a final boss battle, this seems more like a bonus boss.

The battle with Kaguya was a battle to save the world. The fight between Naruto and Sasuke is to determine what course the world will take now that it's been saved; will it return to the darkness of the past, or will it move towards a more meaningful future? Whose path to lasting change is the best? Right now, it seems that Naruto and Sasuke have both learned quite a bit throughout their lives and the war itself, and have both arrived at different answers. This fight will let them sort out their ideological differences; Sasuke, the radical revolutionary, is the aggressor, and Naruto must both defeat Sasuke and help Sasuke come to terms with a more optimistic possibility.

Naruto is fighting to save his friend and end the chain of hatred, Sasuke is fighting to kill his last friend and create a world where he can bear the brunt of everyone's hatred. There has to be a compromise for their struggle to end peacefully. Sasuke, however, is delusional for believing his plan would work, while Naruto is right to believe that Sasuke can still be saved.

Yes, pretty much. The battle with Kaguya was the climax of the main plot about the moon's eye plan. This fight between Naruto and Sasuke is more an epilogue battle between rivals. It's a not so rare constellation in mangas, movies, games.
