What the heck ever happened to the basics in Naruto. No one uses them now.
For instance: Substitution jutsu was used all the time. Now... people just get hit
(Obviously Kishi messed up somethings with power scaling)
Imagine Juubi uses TBB and Shinobi Army goes lmao Substitution.
Totally went on a tangent there... regardless, at some point in time being a shinobi involved some degree of stealth.
Jiraiya was a great shinobi. His techniques that involved invasion were superb.
Tsunade was a good shinobi. She was able to deceive Jiraiya into drinking poison and deceive Orochimaru into allowing her to kill him.
Orochimaru was brilliant because he always snuck around.
Kakashi as well has always been a great ninja because of his strategic maneuvers.
Does everyone remember the bell test when Naruto was the only one who didn't hide. It seems like that's everyone now. Their really aren't sneak attack whereas, many attacks used to be sneak attacks. It's more a less of who is going to out power whom or who happens to be a bad match up.
I feel there really should be a resurgence of the basics in Naruto. Instead of everyone acting like part 1 Naruto and standing in the open looking at the enemy. It seems to have abandoned being a ninja and has come closer to being a manga about being a saiyan.
