is called Pantera. You probably know or herd of it. Great band. And you're wondering why i made this thread now? I just want to all of you metal heads there and here to know the truth and how magnificent band are they. Recently i watched in some interview (old) or something like that the bass player of Slayer talked about it. Somewhere in 90's metal was slow down duo to Madona, MJ music and the great grunge wave (Nirvana mostly). That kind of music just take over the the music market and metal was almost forgotten (as lot off people didn't listen). This can be seen in Billboard. Nirvana Madona na MJ were in the first places. And then Pantera released the album 'Far Beyond Driven' and reached 1st place for like a day. Pantera beat at seals Niravana MJ and Madona which were the biggest in Billboard. And then is called that these guys saved metal back there and let the metal flame was alight one again. So full respect for Pantera. And if you listen metal at all and you didn't heard or listen to them. You have to!

I don't know how Pantera did this, but they aren't a good group. I don't like them. Maby I don't like them, cause I don't like Metal. But, dude...there are a lot of better metal bands than Pantera.

Absolutely, I think most people do know this, but definitely for those that don't Pantera opened the door for more bands and showed the bands that existed that Metal can and never will die as long as there are those that truly love metal. I believe I have seen that interview before, either way I know I seen an interview that had both the bass player of slayer, Tom Araya, and one of the guitarists Kerry King, in the interview talking about Pantera. Personally Slayer is my favorite and probably always will be but pantera brought that amazing southern style metal. with Phil Anselmo's lyrics which just worked perfect for that band. Truly an amazing band And Dimebag Darrel's amazing playing its just to bad he left us all so soon. If the event of his death hadn't happened I'm sure that there would be so much more amazing music from him, maybe even pantera getting back together.
Awesome thread by the way.

Everyone has their own taste i agree with that. And yes over the years there were bands that are better than them. But to say 'there are a lot of better metal bands' i kind of disagree with that. Pantera is one of those bands which pop up really seldom.

@Chishiokage. thanks, man.
