*Approaches the training grounds carrying a bag over my shoulder*

Another kid wants to play with swords. Hopefully this one doesn't cut his own head off like that last one. -_-

*I walk over to the bag and examine it's contents, finding that it is filled with swords of all shapes and sizes.*

Thats what I'm talking about!

*I choose a well balanced long sword from the litter, and then raise the sword to eye level, holding it parallel to the ground. I slightly bend my knees and slide back my right foot, so that my weight is evenly distributed.*

*unsheathes a sword from my waist*

Alright, now show me what you can do.

I hold the sword in my right hand and lay the blade casually over my right shoulder. My left hand rests in my pocket as I give you a lazy look, waiting for your attack.

Appearing calm and collected I wait patiently for your attack. Reading your movements I wait for your slash to begin and as it does I slide my right foot back and turn my body so that its parallel to your slash, allowing it to pass in front of my body. With my sword already held over my right shoulder I bring it down in a vertical slash down on to the wrist of your extended arm. The blunt face of the practice blade lands with a loud smack causing you to drop the sword in your hand.

If that were a real blade, you would be without a hand right now. You're going to need to do better than that kid. Now pick up your sword and try again.

(put more description into your move)

I know, i know. Just thought I'd start off simple.

*After picking up my sword, i taking two quick steps forward, and quickly cut upwards in a diagonal motion, cutting my bokken from my lower left to upper right, in a rising slash across your abdomen, ending the cut just below your left shoulder. During the slash, I take another step forward, thrusting my chest forward and throwing my left shoulder towards you, adding more power behind the slash and forcing you backwards in the same movement. Tilting the blade by angling it and bringing my arms up, an easier motion since I threw myself forward, I take my Sword - parallel to the ground - and stab at a slight angle, making its tip stab into the upper portion of your ribcage, just below your left armpit, very shortly after the rising slash I preformed*

Never start off simple. A battle between swordsmen is a battle to the death, and if you hold back even from the start it creates an opening that can cost you your life.

I take another step forward, thrusting my chest forward and throwing my left shoulder towards you, adding more power behind the slash and forcing you backwards in the same movement.
This part confuses me a bit. Given the way you preformed your slash, how does throwing your left shoulder towards me add to its power? Also it seems like you're doing the shoulder thrust after the slash.

Do it again and try to be more clear.

ok. sorry for the confusion. I'll be more clear with what i mean.

*After picking up my sword, i take two quick steps forward, and quickly cut upwards in a diagonal motion, swinging my sword from my lower left to upper right, in a rising slash across your abdomen, ending the cut just below your left shoulder*

True, but that's not all. Some of the actual techniques we use require you to think on your own and describe the way you attack. If someone uses a technique that creates a fireball, all they need to say is "I fire a fireball at you". However, if we use a technique that says something like you slash the opponent a few times, we have to describe how many times we slash, how we approach, where we slash, how we're positioned, etc.

If we fail to convey what we're doing properly it creates both openings and confusion. You need to leave no room for interpretation in your moves. When you're writing out your move you need to be able to see exactly what you're doing in your head, and your opponent needs to be able to do the same when reading your move.

Understand?

Nope, that's the wrong thing to do. Never assume your opponent acts a certain way, because you have no control over how they respond to what you do. Only worry about yourself and describe what you do.

Now lets begin simple. Come attack me with 3-4 slashes and finish with one powerful slash.

Understood.

Pushing forward with my right foot, I propel myself towards my adversary, I begin to swing my blade as I approach, slashing from my left with the sword, chopping at you at waist level, in an extend two-armed cut; with my right arm guiding, the slash shall end with the blade pointing forward, instead of being carried all the way to my right side. After my initial slash, i then perform a upward vertical slash from the right, which is easy to do because of the position of my blase. I finish off by spinning in order to gain speed and momentum for a horizontal slash, which comes at you at chest level

Ah, sorry lol.

The slash shall end with the blade pointing forward instead of being carried all the way to my right side. After my initial slash i then perform a upward vertical slash from the right, which is easy to do because of the position of my blase. With my sword at my left side, i raise it skyward, and come down with a vertical slash that cuts straight down the middle of your body. I then quickly bring my sword to my right, holding it parallel to the ground, and finish off by spinning in order to gain speed and momentum for a horizontal slash which comes at you at chest level

Okay good. But while I understood your move their is some room for improvement in your sentence structure.

I begin to swing my blade as I approach, slashing from my left with the sword chopping at you at waist level, in an extend two-armed cut; with my right arm guiding.
That one for example. You write it and split it into two commas and a semicolon. What that should tell you is that the order in which you described things is sloppy. A neater and more easy to follow way of writing that would be:

As I approach I preform a two handed slash from left to right along your waistline with my right arm guiding.
See, much simpler, shorter and clearer without losing any of the detail.

Next. Punch me 3-4 times and then finish me off with two quick slashes.
