The anime messed up?

While I was watching today's filler on Kakashi, I noticed that Danzo had his left eye covered. Why is this the case when Shisui wasn't even born yet? Did the anime mess up or was he using other peoples' Sharingans before Shisui's?

Go read the manga, Danzo had his eye covered up in a flashback. Meaning he either had his eye damaged previously or just used another Sharingan.
