The anime is really in a sorry state right now...

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINING THREAD, I'M NOT QUITTING THE ANIME I WILL STILL WATCH IT PROBABLY. I JUST WANT TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH YOU GUYS AND SEE IF YOU FEEL LIKE ME. I'M JUST HEARTBROKEN TO SEE MY FAVOURITE ANIME BE SO BAD TODAY.

I have almost lost faith in the anime. I want this thread to make you all think about this.

In my opinion, the anime began to suck ass around the time of Kyuubi Mode Naruto introduction.
The Gaara Rescue Arc, the Hidan and Kakuzu Arc, Itachi Pursuit Arc, some parts of the Pain Arc and the Five Kage Arc looked all AMAZING. The animation was not stiff like today, and the characters were actually drawn WELL.

Since the War Arc started, the animation has been subpar. But that's not what bothers me, what bothers me are the drawings.
Before, the characters were much more detailed. They looked much more pleasant to look at and had depth. Now they look like stick figures.

Look at this image. It's not horrible, but the characters don't look three-dimensional at all. They look like drawings, which is why they look so weird now. They don't blend in with the backgrounds at all, they don't have any depth and
everytime, and i mean, EVERYTIME, there is a distance shot, they have terrible details.

Not only that, but i will tell you guys the truth.

Studio Pierrot is probably not putting any more effort into the series.

The last episodes were not bad, especially 322 was an amazing episode.
But i can tell you something. The last two episodes both had a lot of animation errors and mistakes.

And why someone makes mistakes?
Because he rushes things and doesn't double check things. And that's exactly how i feel the anime is being handled today. It's rushed and poorly made.

Not to mention that during the episode, the lipsynching was really bad, especially for the Tsuchikage.

And guess what, today episode was a filler, and IT HAD NO ERRORS! Or at least i didn't notice them as much as these errors.
So we had two episodes in a row with stupid errors. And you know, i really don't care that much about animation, i mean i can close an eye for the animation.
But when the animators make so many of these errors, it breaks my immersion into the world of Naruto.
And that's what the anime should do.

And as for fillers, i really don't care about them, i enjoy watching them sometimes, but really they break the flow.
Studio Pierrot is selling DVDs for the series, right?
Well, who in the hell would buy a series composed 50% of fillers?
Doesn't it bother you that we have 324 episodes of Shippuden, and 150 are fillers? Do you realize that without fillers, this entire series would be done in about 250 episodes?

This is my verdict: The anime is a flawed product, full of fillers, bad animation, terrible stillframes, and a buttload of animation mistakes. The soundtracks are amazing through.

I think i really spoiled myself, watching Dragonball Kai, Death Note, FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Swords Art Online, great animes without filler and great animation,i really can't stand these stupid errors anymore.

I really wish that after the series is done, we get a "Naruto Kai", with episodes from the first series and Shippuden, with fixed animation errors and removed fillers. "Naruto Kai" would be ten times better than the actual series... Would love to buy DVDs of that.

So what do you guys think? Do you enjoy the filler? What do you think about the animation errors? What would you change about the anime? Please discuss. And if you come here to say "Just don't watch it" or "Stop complaining", then go back and don't enter my thread, because like i said before, this is not a complaint i just want to hear your opinion.

Most of the episodes from the war were OUTSOURCED, which means, they gave directions to another company of animators outside of Studio Pierrot and they did the episode by themselves.
So it's pretty obvious why the animation sucks today. Because they can't be arsed to do the episodes themselves (322 was made by Studio Pierrot by the way) and they hire noobs to do the work.

Japanimation? More like Koreanimation.

Couldn't agree more with the OP.

I have honestly lost my connection to this show (not so much the manga). I have mentioned this before in a previous post, but I actually lose track of this and sometimes don't even bother to remember that a new episode came out sometimes because it just doesn't grab my attention anymore.

Like you said, some of the scenes, drawings and voices draw my focus away from the anime. The amount of mistakes I notice now hinders my ability to stay glued into the show and most of the time I find myself watching the older episodes where this sort of crap wasn't happening.

They're rushing way too much and you can tell that Shippuden will be ending in about another 100-150 chapters (manga wise). That is the only explanation why some of the scenes in the anime are flawed to the point that it looks like a third grader was the one coloring everything.

Sad because it looks like this show is falling down as one of my favorites.

wow, actually read all of that. i agree. if this was aired in britain it would be shut down because of its amateurism.

i mean, compare the movement of bee vs itachi with bee vs sasuke. i had no idea that pirouetting on one foot with swords was so lethal so disappointed, we were supposed to see the difference between sasuke and itachi in that fight. i feel cheated out of so many good fights.

i like the filler. when i was reading the manga i kept thinking, they had better put all these fights that theyre missing out in the filler. but even that is shabby. for example, kakashi seems to have forgotten how to use his copy ninja techniques, even though it said he was about to go on a rampage. he didnt even fight the seventh swordsman, who didnt even bother to pick up a basic sword!!!!!!! there must have been dozens lying around on the battlefield! WHAT ON EARTH HAS HE BEEN DOING ALL THIS TIME, HE HAS ENOUGH CHAKRA RESERVES TO WEILD SAMEHADA AND HE'S BEEN LOAFING AROUND FOR NEARLY 20 EPISODES!!!!

it is clear that they are phoning in most of the episodes these days.

you know what,i want naruto part 1+kakashi gaiden+naruto part 2 into one hell of a anime pack with these characteristics-

1. No fillers,though they may increase the fight scenarios a bit like 322.

2. Consistent animation quality throughout.

3. No removal of the only awesome thing the anime has,i.e. ost's and their proper-placements as they used to do before.

4. A total reboot,in HD 16:9,not remastered like dbz kai,with improved visuals and improved character designs,keep it like manga but not as bad as that,because that was when kishi started to draw.

5. And for-godsake please with age 17 and above category like shingeki,a lot of blood where it should be are not shown because of 13 above age rating,for eg- 322,it should be a bloodied battlefield,and i'm sure when the obito past will be shown,they'll cencor the most awesome part of it,the bloodbath called hell.

Yep it's completely true but I'm still happy I'm getting something imagine if they cancelled Naruto shippuden and just continued with the manga. I'm sure everyone would wish that even if we get what were getting now that the anime should come back.

I did not realise some of these mistakes until I saw you mentioning it in this thread. These errors should not be of great concern because they do not ruin or have a major detrimental impact on the anime. The Rinnegan mistake was not even a spoiler for those who only watch the anime. The majority of them already knew that Madara had the Rinnegan way before Episode 322 was released (there is a scene in the latest opening showing Madara’s Rinnegan, which was released a few months ago). You have to remember that animators are only humans. Mistakes are always made; the world is not a perfect place. That is why you should not really care about them.

Episode 322 Errors:

That is not a mistake because the animators did that on purpose to make the scene look better. Just look at the Sasuke vs Killer Bee fight (which was beautifully animated). There were countless times when you would see Sasuke or Bee’s body deforming, but that change in shape actually made the fight look much better as the fluidity of their movements improved drastically. It basically made the battle more exhilarating to watch. So just focus on the whole animation rather than a single ugly frame.

I have to admit that some of them are terrible, but most fillers are great because they always involve some form of comedy (which I am a huge fan of) or something emotional that will touch your heart. However, the main reason why I love fillers is because they give much more screen time to characters we do not see a lot in the manga and this gives something for fans of Omoi, Chiyo, Temari, Sai, etc... to cheer on. Additionally, I thought there was a lack of war feeling in the manga - you know, that feeling of what war was truly like. But luckily, the anime seemed to have covered that by adding fillers that contained more realistic aspects of war. Though, I do want to see more blood pouring out.

The rest, I partly agree with you. However, the anime is NOT going downhill.

I know, and that's bad, because if they mix filler and canon in an episode that means we have some filler we can't skip. The reason the anime is deemed better than others is because the canon action and the filler action are separate, unlike other animes like One Piece and Dragonball Z where the episodes have so much filler that the pacing goes to shit and it takes 3 episodes to charge an attack.

I'm not saying you're wrong, i know mistakes can happen. But i tell you to look at the older episodes. It has never happened in the past that while watching the anime, i saw errors while i was not looking at every frame. I mean the older episodes had better quality and even if they had errors, they weren't as noticeable.
But in Episode 322 and 323, and pretty much the entire War Arc, these errors BECAME DETRIMENTAL. Because they are so glaring and obvious that i have seen them while normally watching the episode.
I suggest you to watch some of the older episodes, and see if you can spot any errors without pausing the video. I know i rarely did, but the War Arc is full of these errors and my immersion went to shit.

You've just proven my point. That frame you posted doesn't look bad at all. It just expresses body movement on Sasuke and Killer Bee part. Deforming doesn't mean giving characters retarded faces. You know why everyone complained about episode 167? Because they took the deformity to an insane level.

But, i do have a problem when canon episodes are full of animation errors and my immersion into this anime is broken. I used to get so self-absorbed in this anime, and everytime i watch an episode now an error breaks my immersion inevitably.

And now i tell you, the errors ARE DETRIMENTAL, because i can't tell you how shitty i felt when i was watching Episode 323 and Oonoki kept moving his mouth even while not talking, or when the Raikage was talking in his place.
It has come to the point that i can see the errors while watching the episode normally, while in the older episodes i had to pause the video and look at every frame to spot them.
