Why I think the movie will probably(maybe) suck, a devils advocate view

#1 Peter Parker
I read a few of the Ultimate comics and i dont remember him being changed that much
I found Peter is as much the bookish science nerd as he is in the Amazing comics. "And in fact the first issue bares more than a passing resemblance to the first Raimi movie. And Marvel’s own Universe Wiki describes him as a “quiet, bookish, boy”."

Even thou it may not ruin the movie, i say this because the source of material is just low..especially after making 3 other spiderman movies, the reboted one should be better

"What have they done to the webbing on his head!? It’s uneven and no longer even looks like a spiders web, like they entirely missed the point. And the way the web wraps around his head rather than circles round the front like an actual spiders web, makes it look more like some weird gimp mask.

I like that Emma Stones in it and i believe she is a natural red head so WHY make her Gwen instead of MJ?! Emma Stone would play a better MJ.

Gwen is aware that Peter is Spider-Man and is supportive. Nothing could be more out of character for the Amazing universe Gwen. Although it would fit perfectly for the Ultimate universe Mary Jane!?
I’m not a big fan of Gwen, it does seem like an unnecessary change and in the comics Gwen dies having never known about Peter's "secret"

Now to show how biased i am:
I never really liked Gwen Stacy, she started off as a cruel beauty queen that was full of herself and had all the boys falling over her. Her only attraction to Peter was that he had no time for her (mainly because he was too busy with his sick Aunt or being a superhero). And when they finally got together, she became a sappy daddy’s girl that fawned over Peter. And despite Stan Lee and John Romita’s best efforts she just was not very interesting and Mary Jane stole every scene they shared. Worst of all she hated Spider-Man..


I guess i say all this because i want my spidey to be as close to the Peter Parker i grew up to know and love. and if you're the kind of Spider-Man fan that is OK with a re-imagined Peter Parker, one that is nothing like the Peter Parker from the 616 universe, then you will of course disagree with me

I liked the Raimi trilogy but im gonna give this one a chance, his suit doesn't look that bad and i prefer the acting i say we watch it we may be plesently surprised

it could turn out amazing thou cause of effects and all, but its not only spiderman...
none of the superhero movies follow the exact storyline. But they always find a way to make it epic

All the 3d/new uber graphic remake movies are like that. I'll tell you something, I'd prefer a good thriller from the 80/90s over sh't like Avatar any day.

Nuuuuu, the previous Spiderman trilogy was a joke! Well more specifically, Spiderman 3 was. I grew up watching Spiderman and I can't wait for the reboot XD In Spiderman 3, Venom was just wrong! I can't even begin to explain it, all I can say is that it was just wrong. Peter is supposed to be a nerdy like guy, and I think the new actor will play that role better than Toby Maguire.

well y have a right here but,after watchmen and batman movies,the companies saw that the "dark" and real looking design of them was attracting people over 20 to see them,making those movies "cool" for every age.Now the amazing spiderman is trying to copy this way by making the movie darker,more grown up and adgust real life materials on it(""with the thought of peter being poor,the costume design will be poor too""they thought).Well i like that the movie has some dark parts and better effects but damn that custume design is just plain crap in viewers face.Damn those snickers on spidey!!!!

The previous Spiderman films were just for Hollywood. They did not do justice to the original storyline of Spiderman SMH. There are so many doors and storylines that this reboot opens.

If they just continued with the 3rd movie and made Carnage a villian making Venom come back to, sorta like the animated series it wouldve been great!

Fresh from where exactly? cause from the start the storyline of the rebooted one is completely wrong

"First we have Peter as a little boy being told by his father that he has to stay with his Aunt and Uncle because they have to go away for a little while. I think it’s pretty clear from what has been said elsewhere by Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield along with what we see in the trailer, that this event is going to be very important to the story in this movie." - quoted

First of all if the loss of his parents is going to be the reason why Peter is so anti-social, well it is once again alarmingly out of character. As far as I recall, Peter never brooded once in the comics in regards to the loss of his parents.

In the Amazing universe, Peter is left with Uncle Ben and Aunt May when he was a baby, not a little boy as seen in the movie. As seen in Amazing Spider-Man Annual#5 (1968), the first issue to have any details on Peter’s parents at all.

and also, did Peter not need glasses as a little boy? theres wayyy more then this btw, so saying this will run closely to the storylines in the comics is false lol

That's what I've been waiting for all this time and I still am.
I want to see Carnage on the big screen so bad. :/
