Chapter 10: Disaster
[Review on last chapter]
[Setting change: Near the outskirts of Tsuchi no Kuni]
Narrator: Suddenly two figures emerge from the mist that had completely surrounded the area as they creep behind Izumo and Kotetsu as a weapon is swung at them.
*Splash*
Nukenin: (In thought) They're pretty skilled at using clones..
Narrator: She then cancels out her clone and prepares herself.
Nukenin: (In thought) Its time to end this-they need to die simultaneously! *snicker*
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Numerous maelstroms form and are quickly maneuvered by the currents which crash into surrounding mountains causing rockslides.
Nukenin: *Snickering*
Narrator: The two struggle to survive in the destructive jutsu as they were blinded due to the mist but felt the force of the current and heard the frightening sound of the whirling water.
Izumo: (Shouting) Kotetsu!
Kotetsu: (Shouting) Understood!
Narrator: They had decided to use their ultimate jutsu. As Kotetsu formed the proper hand seals, he is suddenly swept into one of the large vortex.
Izumo: (In thought) What happened to him-I can't hold out..
Nukenin: (In thought) One down!
Narrator: Although, he was sucked in; his will drove him into completing the seals.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Convulsing land from underneath the water began to severely weaken her jutsu causing the maelstroms to diminish.
Nukenin: (In thought) How is this possible!-I've underestimated them again!
Narrator: Izumo was somehow able to delude the swirling currents but there was no sign of Kotetsu. He breathed a sigh of relief as he felt the current reduce in strength and prepared for his ace.
Izumo: (In thought) You have to still be alive to have done this partner..*sigh*
Narrator: He the breathed a sigh of relief as the nukenin stared intensively at him.
Nukenin: (In thought) I can still take them out!
Narrator: As she raced towards Izumo; he used his final jutsu.
Izumo: Fuuton: Fukusuu Uzu Tatsumaki no Jutsu!
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Having nearly drained herself of her own chakra reserves, she then used a Suiryuudan no Jutsu as to escape from the deadly vortices. However, the force of suction rapidly drew in the dragon and her along with it.
[Jutsu Insight]
Izumo: (In thought) I think I have her!
Narrator: He then releases his jutsu to avoid depleting his chakra reserves any further and the enormous vortices began to subside. Izumo then commenced his search for her supposed remains as well as Kotetsu .
Izumo: (In thought) She's not here-I must locate Kotetsu right away!
Narrator: Izumo then used a jutsu in attempt to clear out the remaining mist.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: A small stream of air is blown at the misty area due to his extremely low reserves which eventually reveals a lifeless soaked Kotetsu on the ground.
Izumo: (Shouting) Kotetsu!!!!!
Narrator: He races over to his side and attempts to resuscitate him.
Izumo: It isn’t working!
Narrator: Katsuyu is summoned and exerts herself in reviving him.
Izumo: (In thought) We lost Asuma-taichou..we can't lose you too...
Katsuyu: I've removed the water and all that is left for him to do is awake..
Izumo: But he-
Katsuyu: Should be expected to make a full recovery..though there is the possibility that he never wakes up again-
Izumo: No way..
[Setting change: Kiriagkure-Mizukage headquarters]
Kirinin: Mizukage-sama a message bird has arrived for you..
Mei: Lets hear it
Narrator: The events of the nukenin were revealed as her eyebrows arched in concern.
Mei: Locate ten of my best ANBU members along with Choujuurou and Ao immediately and inform them to meet me in my office!
Kirinin: Understood!
Narrator: A short interval of time passes and suddenly a group of men appear before her as the smoke around them quickly settles.
Ao: You called for us Mizukage-sama..
Mei: This is an emergency!-You are all ordered to conduct a full scale manhunt and assassination of this nukenin Houzuki Ame!
[Identity Insight]
Narrator: She pointed towards Ame’s picture in the Bingo Book.
Mei: You’ve all already been given a book but take this one as there is no time to waste and I appoint you Ao as leader-now be off!
Choujuurou: I promise to erase her
Narrator: The young swordsman reached overhead placing a slightly shaken hand upon his double-handled sword’s guard and gripped it to which Ao caught glimpse of and proceeded to close his eyes.
Ao: (In thought) You have to mean it Choujuurou and not put up this confident front..meh-
Ao: Lets go!
Narrator: As their priorities were set, Mei’s ANBU squad, timid swordsman and masculine Oinin vanished with a poof a smoke left behind.
Note: Oinin translates to Hunter-nin.
Mei: (In thought) This nukenin is one of the most treacherous and is adept to eluding us but we’ve finally received a lead on you..
[Setting change: Near the outskirts of Tsuchi no Kuni]
Narrator: Izumo then releases the medic slug as he remained silent in a sitting position aside his partner. A few hours later he recovers from the shock but many thoughts then begin surging his mind preventing him from even closing his eyes.
Izumo: (Screaming) AHH!!!
Narrator: The scream of horror from his best friend seemed to stimulate Kotetsu's mind and it gradually woke him up.
Kotetsu: ...Iz..u.Izummo-Izumo!
Narrator: His strength regained due to the long rest and when he viewed his partner’s state he smacked his left cheek.
Kotetsu: Izumo-hang in there!
Narrator: The slap began to return the stressed Izumo back to his senses.
Kotetsu: You're finally coming to..
Izumo: You..you're awake!
Kotetsu: Yes..but you seemed to be losing yourself-
Izumo: ..Oh that...I apologize!
Kotetsu: Its fine..you don't have to tell me-
Izumo: It appears she fled the land...perhaps her infinite skills-she may have received fatal injuries though she had enough time for an escape due to the interval between our last jutsu and your near fatal experience..
Kotetsu: Is that why you had that breakdown?
Izumo: Yes and because of you as well..
Kotetsu: Me?!
