Chapter 8: Fatality
[Review on last chapter]
Note: This chapter was supposed to be released yesterday and due to editing reasons I had to delay it until today-my deepest apologies! -_-
Narrator: Several hand seals are invoked as Kotetsu uses a jutsu.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Multiple stony sea urchin with long sharp spines from his mouth towards the nukenin. Although, her double bladed sword is sheathed behind her back as she then counters with a water technique.
Nukenin: (Shouting) Suiton: Suiryuudan no Jutsu!
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Making use of the existing water from her earlier jutsu; a water dragon forms and zigzags in the path of the oncoming attack.
Kotetsu: (In thought) Even though I have the affinity advantage, she chose a jutsu that could potentially avoid mine..shit!
Narrator: By emitting chakra through his feet, he quickly paces for a nearby mountain. The frequent turning dragon does in fact receive some of blows which weakens the jutsu though it continues its course for Kotetsu. Upon stepping foot onto the large land form, he heads midway up as hand seals are then performed.
Nukenin: Dame!
Narrator: Realizing he was most likely in the process of using a far more superior Doton jutsu; she ceased in his pursuit and directed the dragon towards Izumo instead. Having caught onto her tactic; Kotetsu then releases his jutsu.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Large spike-like shapes rise from the ground at a high speed and several successfully pierce the water dragon just feet away from Izumo's location resulting in the dragon's dissipation.
Nukenin: (In thought) No!-the Doton user must be eliminated first!
Narrator: He continued his attack aiming for the nukenin but she uses the dissipated water as a vehicle of sorts leaping onto the water which had taken a beam-like appearance.
Kotetsu: If I could just catch her-
Narrator: To increase accuracy, Kotetsu moves back onto the land and continues his jutsu. Several slashes of wind abruptly tear through the water she rode upon causing it to become unbalanced.
Izumo: (In thought) Your move partner..
Nukenin: Hmm..
Narrator: She suddenly leaped from the unstable water lift towards Kotetsu having unsheathed her weapon but a spike rises from the ground before him to pierce her. She notices and motions her body avoiding it and aims her twin blades at him.
Izumo: (In thought) She's fast!
Narrator: Kotetsu reaches for his kunai blade and is able to intercept her slash, though the impact forces his arm away from blocking his body; leaving him briefly open. Her twin blades are swung back as to puncture him.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: However, he releases a jutsu aiming for her eyes as to intercept her strike through blindness and she proceeds to block the attack.
Kotetsu: (In thought) Her reflexes are on another level..
Narrator: He then swings his blade back and fourth onto her as she dodges every strike.
Kotetsu: (In thought) Just what is she? *panting*
Narrator: The nukenin then jumps Kotetsu over head and points her finger from behind with a sadistic expression as Izumo heads in their direction.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Her jutsu was too fast to avoid thus Kotetsu is pierced. However, he was able to motion his body slightly which changed the fatal trajectory from his heart to just above it.
Kotetsu: Gya!
Izumo: (Shouting) Kotetsu!
Narrator: He then slams his blade into the ground as to stop himself from falling over as she closed in for the kill. Suddenly a slash of wind aims at her back as she leaps into the air to avoid it.
Nukenin: (In thought) Killing these two isn’t as easy I thought it would be!
Kotetsu: (Shouting) I can still fight!
Narrator: Izumo’s eyes widened in response to his claim as she then landed and quickly attempted to strike Kotetsu from behind with her double bladed sword. However, he regains his composure then turns around and blocks with his kunai blade in which he quickly infused Earth chakra.
[Jutsu Insight]
Narrator: Due to the Earth properties within the outer layer of his blade; he is able to rebound her strike.
Nukenin: (In thought) It was his blade!
Kotetsu: (In thought) Chance!
Narrator: Having been forced back by the encrusted Earth's impacting property; her heart is then pierced by Kotetsu with his blade but her entire body then turns into water as it splashes onto the ground.
Kotetsu: What!-
Izumo: Attack the water Kotetsu!
Narrator: A somewhat confused Kotetsu then uses Doton: Doryuusou as Earth in the form of spikes begin protruding from the ground in order to pierce the fleeing fluid.
Izumo: (In thought) She’s attempting to reach the mountains!
Narrator: Their efforts lie in failure as she expertly dodges the Doton jutsu and arrives at the mountain area. She quickly takes advantage of the rocky landscape to conceal herself.
Izumo: Shit!...she’s gone-she is undoubtedly from the Houzuki clan and has been using their powerful hiden jutsu; making it possible to avoid injury!
[Jutsu Insight]
Izumo: I have to send out a message to Tsunade-sama!
Narrator: He completes the message and the bird summoning heads off to the headquarters. A scroll is then taken out and Izumo summons a small Katsuyu clone.
Katsuyu: I'll get to work on his wound.
Kotetsu: That's right..Godaime’s summoning
Izumo: (In thought) If not for this..we would have been in a pinch..
Narrator: The Katsuyu clone crawls onto Kotetsu's shoulder wound, analyzes it and begins to heal it. Some moments later, Katsuyu completes the process.
Katsuyu: It appears you took a direct blow into the structure of your shoulder resulting in a small area of shattered bone-I've hastened the bone's natural healing process but the exit wound is not completely repaired therefore you must take it easy
Kotetsu: (In thought) What an opponent and such beauty I almost dare not speak of as she is condemned-
Kotetsu: Thank you
Katsuyu: Thank me by following that order..
Kotetsu: Understood
Narrator: Izumo then dispels the summoning.
Kotetsu: Just think if we did not train tediously after Asuma Taichou-
Izumo: I know-the promise we made to one another-he would be proud..
Kotetsu: Yeah..
Narrator: A flash of the nukenin’s face then surfaces in Izumo’s mind.
Izumo: (In thought) If only we were ANBU qualified-now she is free to roam until the proper positioned men arrive...dame it!
Narrator: The fragmented gem is taken out by Izumo who emotionally bears a damaged pride as he holds it out in front of himself. They descend deeper into Tsuchi territory and it isn’t long before it begins to glow.
Izumo: It seems to be reacting to those nearby ravines..
