The Akatsuki were always meant to be villains. The Uchiha were never truly villains, that's just what they were portrayed as. Tobi is really the only true Uchiha villain.
Pain is really the only one who has an excuse and is being portrayed that way, since he does want peace... just in the wrong way.

The uchihas were just filled with hatred because they lost a loved one, but the akatsuki have reasons for evil, and there really interesting too. so i agree with you
