I'm a bit late to the party, I'd imagine. But it just hit me, with the death of Obito and Black Zetsu being sealed. The Akatsuki organization doesn't have any more members left that aren't bound, dead, or sealed away. Sort of an odd thought, especially considering the impact they had on the manga.

I'm honestly not too sure how I feel about the Organization being completely out of the manga now. . . Any thoughts on the Akatsuki officially defeated, tarnished, and what not?

Honestly, my thoughts have not changed after i realised they are all gone. Felt similar for about last 150-200 chapters anyway.

Hidan will be back to bite Shikamaru to death.

Forreal though... Feels weird with the significance they had at least one didn't get to survive the organization.

Sucks that the Akatsuki were pawns to revive Kaguya. Black Zetsu was the mastermind...

It was better when Madara was the true mastermind.

Their real end was with Pain's death. I think I enjoyed them most when they were more wrapped in myth, once Sauske joined their ranks (and really it had nothing to do with him persay) they transformed into standard enemies to be defeated at that point. At least that's how it was for me.

I know what you mean, the Akatsuki did have a distinctly different feel to it when Obito took leadership after Pein's demise. Though, I still found them to be enjoyable.

So cold, Metapod. I don't know, they were iconic for so long and it was technically the Akatsuki leading the war. To see it all gone just sort of baffled me for a moment.

I think Kish did that, in order to leave room incase he needed some sort of plothole in the would be future. It just never panned out. Think of it like playing Tetris and purposely leaving one side along while you wait for the perfect piece.

Eh, feels like they've been gone longer to me but you're right. I liked the impact all the Akatsuki had in this plot from Hidan killing Asuma to Black Zetsu's master scheme (even if that arc sucked). They were a good piece overall, but if you want, you can count Sasuke as the final member since he never technically quit huh? :yeah:

Felt some of the characters could have been expanded more. An expansion of character's like Deidara, Kakazu, and Hidan would be nice. Other than that, I like their impact on the story before the whole war arc. I also liked the dynamics/interaction between each pair.

I wouldn't really count him as an Akatsuki, but place him in a similar category as Kabuto. Both allied and helped the Akatsuki, but their goals were different from that of the groups.

Akatsuki means mystery and excitement for me (along with other things) and when those aspects were largely gone about 150-200 chapters ago with their deaths and reveals, they derailed down for me. Before that we even saw likes of Taka lackies wearing their cloaks, they were losing that glory as an organisation.

But "technically" with Taka being alive Akatsuki some members are alive. So they are not completely dead, from a perspective.
