If Kishi does intend to continue Naruto, hopefully he will use a plot device to destroy or remove Konoha and the other four Villages from the plot focus first. I say this because if the story continues with Boruto in focus in Konoha and the Villages, it will have the same story fell and taste as Part 1 Naruto with a few changes here and there. That will be meh and boring. By removing the Villages, that won't happen and Kishi will be free to focus on the Six Realms of Kaguya and the Pure Lands (The Boruto movie was a transition to this change where the final focus was in Kaguya's Dimensions).
The ancient mysteries of the Shinju, Kaguya, Hagoromo and Hamura can then be freely expanded without clashing with the Ninja and Village theme as it will be done in an unknown realm. The transition is pretty obvious with the introduction of the Six Realms, The Last which focuses on the Moon and The emerging Ootsutsuki villains.
Of course what could lead to the fall of Konoha and the Villages ? The hints were given in Gaiden and the Boruto Movie. The Shin Army, Orochimaru's Final Villain Hints (Kishi kept Oro in the story for so long for a reason) and the revelation of Mitsuki being Oro's son and a spy have set the stage for a second invasion on Konoha by Oro.
The story beyond where Naruto ended has massive potential and hopefully Kishi will continue it one day.
