The ACTUAL Itachi Story in 10 Points

Getting a little tired of all the neverending Itachi praising. Sorry- here's the ACTUAL Itachi story. Ahem.

1. Was born the ultra gifted, talented, perfect son with his life on a plate for him.

2. Being a child growing up in a war messed him up.

3. Betrays family as a double agent.

4. Has to murders all of the innocent people.

5. Fails to murder all of the innocent people.

6. Screws up his little brother by torturing him with genjutsu, leaving him in a village full of psychopaths, letting him go to Orochimaru- all part of a plan that obviously wasn't going to work.

7. Dies due to chakra loss, also a plan that involves you dying at the end isn't a great plan just saying.

8. BULLSH*T PLOT TWIST ITACHI IS A GOOD GUY THIS WHOLE TIME (bad writing Kishi)

8.5. Little brother obviously turns into a psychopath criminal anyway, Itachi's plan fails pitifully.

9. Comes back to life (let his story die already)

10. Is a cheap opponent and uses a stupid plot device technique to magically save the day against the opponent obviously much stronger than he is! Hooray! Itachi dies. Again.

Saw an alternative version of this thread and thought it was time to put it straight that Itachi isn't the perfect character you all make him out to be. Kishimoto may think that but Itachi himself states how he is not perfect and his whole life has been for the most part a failure. Time to stop being blind, every character is flawed and I think Itachi is particularly badly written.

The third shinobi war, where Itachi was just a little kid and Obito died.

-Keeping Sasuke alive caused more bad than it did good, if he was truely so dedicated to peace he would've had to kill his own brother too. You don't get to cause genocide for the good of peace BUT ON YOUR TERMS. That's not how it works.

Lol the fact he killed his clan instead of trying to talk it out and the fact his plan didn't stop Sasuke are physical evidence that he wasn't perfect.

But yeah I guess that's his story close enough though the negative connotation may not have been neccisary. However, I respect hour opinion of Itachi as everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

1. He was born naturally talented, but like every powerful ninja, he worked to become truly powerful.

2. Anyone who'd have witnessed countless deaths by that age would have been affected mentally.

3. He made the right move and decided not to take part in his clan's plan of murdering the innocent people of Konoha.

4. He murdered the Uchiha clan, because it was the right thing to do. If he hadn't done it, the coup d'état would have taken place, resulting in the death of the Uchiha, a lot f innocent people and shinobi in Konoha, therefore starting a new Ninja War, since other countries would take the chance while Konoha was weakened.

5. He spared the life of his brother, in no way did he "fail".

6. He did that in order to make his brother powerful enough to be able to handle things on his own in the shinobi world. His plan would have worked if it wasn't for Obito.

7. And yet, it would have ended well for almost everyone if it hadn't been for Obito surviving the Amaterasu.

Itachi's plot twist wasn't bad writing... it was actually one of the better twists in all of Naruto... I'm not even a Itachi fan but I can recognize that it was great writing.

I mean he kept talking about different people's reality and illusions and all that stuff even in part 1.... looking back it seemed kinda obvious there was something else going on..

I've disliked Itachi as a written character way before the Kabuto fight and even before I started liking Kabuto to be honest so that can't be it :')

Kabuto became a stronger ninja than Itachi- I call izanami an awful deus ex machina due to lazy writing. Izanami is plot no jutsu and it was a cheap way to win the fight, Kishimoto couldn't find a way to defeat his own enemy and invented a cheap technique to win. It happens a lot, dont believe me? I doubt you will ever see Izanami be used ever again.

Sorry then you must not be aware of good literature :') I kindly disagree, if it were planned all along then Kishimoto should've done a common necessary thing called foreshadowing. There should've been one or two hints- like we had with Tobi and the Madara business. It was a twist that came out of nowhere and it was all so much to take in so quickly that I really doubt it was planned that much further ahead.
