[Discussion] The ABSOLUTE truth about One Piece.

It WILL, in time, be the undeniably greatest anime of all time. Yes, even greater the childhood favorite of most of us, Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z.
This is coming from someone who doesn't even follow the manga, nor the anime...anymore. Every time a chapter comes out, I quickly skim through it to see if anything big happens, which is rare.
One Piece is painfully and tediously slow, but for good reason.
Even though it's 745 chapters in, there are still so many huge events that haven't come to pass yet. There are still many justices that must be served, vengeance that needs to be fulfilled, and reunions that must happen.
One Piece is such a grand adventure.

Onepiece is a great manga and it will deffinetly be one of the best manga's in history at the rate its going

Dragonball z will remain the best to most people mainly due to nostalgia and it was one of the manga's that inspired a lot of people

Well said, one peice is on an incredibly grand scale, yet still slowly proceeds through the story. I hope to have another 8+ years of it. Ots def my favorite manga after naruto. And it prolly would be my favorite if it was at its climax in the story like naruto currently is.

Depends on your definition of great. As shitty as the plot has gotten, Naruto is better than Dragon Ball, but by no means is a greater manga. It would need to revolutionize the industry as Dragon Ball did. You have to take what the manga accomplished into factor.

Once I grew up I realized DBZ wasn't that great, but animators occasionally slack on OP for a reason and that's because they can. Its so good that even if they don't pay top dollar for animation ppl will still watch it because they r in luv with the story.

The manga is phenomenal and its only getting better, I can't imagine how it will be when it ends

It probably could very well be. But the problem is it will take another 8-9 years at the very least to wrap up. I don't know how many of us will still follow it or follow it with the same enthusiasm. Oda's got to pick up the pace a bit without compromising on the quality.

Anyway DBZ is one of the most overrated anime ever,people are so high about it cause they grew up with it and it was one of the first major anime from what I know.The plot wasnt anything special,it was so dragged out it hurt,random power ups noone neeeded etc...its good but hell,the way people talk about it its as if God shit it out.

As for OP,it could be simply because of its length.
People wont remember all these amazing short animes cause they werent in their life for so long.
OP on the other hand will and so aslong as Oda doesnt screw up for some it could be the greatest,maybe it wont be in quality but people will want to justify watching it for so long.

I do believe it could be the best even in quality but the anime is kinda screwing up the pace but oh well,it took a season for goku to stop screaming and go ssj against frieza and people still love it.

Imo the 3 best manga ever written are Phoenix, One Piece and Berserk
