Back on topic, you do have some sort of a point, however, in the end, there is strong evidence suggesting that Hiruzen wasn't as great as made out to be due to his battle with Orochimaru. Having evidence of one thing always outweighs having no evidence at all, so until the manga reveals Hiruzen's feats/capabilities which he achieved in the past match that of the description some people were giving him, it is silly to put him on par with the likes of Hashirama, Madara, Obito and Nagato.
