I was in psychology class when my professor announced we would be learning about gate theory. According to this theory our brain creates gates to block off an overflow of information from paralyzing our brain. Apparently there are techniques to allow the brain to bypass these gates and intake much more information at once. This means better scensory perception, reaction time, and cognitive ability. So in theory you could actually become almost super human by bypassing all of these gates, however much like in naruto when to many gates are opened the brain can not handle the stress and begins to shut down. This is just one of the many crazy scientific theories i have seen Kishi include in his manga and it is on of the reasons i love it so much!

It's also based on a chakra system in some sects of Hinduism and other Eastern religious beliefs.

Most techniques are based off of reality or mythology...

Yes. It is all "loosely" based on reality and religious beliefs.

The whole chakra system, the abilities that come from chakra, and the manner that its used has always been in Asian religious beliefs.

whats interesting is it isnt mythology or religion its actually a complex scientific theory thats why i thought it was interesting. you may not but i find it cool when someone does their research and i thought he should get some recognition for actually looking into something

Yeah man we never use 100% of our muscles and never at full potential of the ones we can. In severe moments of stress or danger we can which is why people can just randomly lift vehicles in rare instances....of course like the 8 gates you end with extreme bruising and pain because of the abuse o_O

But you cannot order it at will. As far as I know, that´s impossible. Unless there is something wrong with you brain. However, I think you will like this article: .

And of course, when you are on the verge of death, your brain stops several functions, but the others are improved. For example you will gain great strength, perception... and sometimes everything for you will appear as it is in slow-motion. Pretty cool stuff, but as I said, you cannot control it willingly.

And I don´t think that Kishi implemented this in his manga. If yes, kudos to him, but I think he took this from Asian culture. Bypassing your limits to gain greater strength, gathering your chakra... You see what I mean, right? :) Also, it is not leveled as these 8 gates in Naruto.

yeah it`s actually logical if you think about the fact that we humans are only using 10% of the brain.we would all be super saiyans if we controlled 100% xdxd:D

its called gate theory it has to do with the maximum capacity of our brain (how many neurons can be active at once without interference) but technically we should be able to have more active than we normally do but we install gates as a way to protect from overload thats why when you are deeply into a movie you block out noise from around you because the allowed amount of neurons firing in your brain are devoted to processing the movie

That's not true. I once released all of my demon walrus chakra 8 gate seals and was told I was the chosen one to release the 'blue tears', where I discovered a new form of power.

I took out a whole cop station, book fair and beach in one snap. Was all over the news too.
