The 6th Great Ninja War
Chapter XXXIV: The Crazy Bones
Chapter XXXIV: The Crazy Bones
Goro stood before the revived Mizukage and Kazekage with utmost confidence in his ability. The two observed Goro closely, wondering just what he was planning. Did he really plan on fighting the two of them by himself, they thought. Goro held out his hand and curved it so that his palm faced him. He slowly closed his hand, forming a fist.
Goro: You know…as a kid, they called me a prodigy. I always wondered if I would amount to the man they always wanted me to become…
TenzoX: We didn’t ask for your whole life’s story. -_-
Goro: It wasn’t until recently that I realized that I needed to be much more than a man…that it is my duty to protect my friends and my teammates. Knowing that role has given me more confidence in my ability. And for that reason I know…you two can’t kill me.
Naruto..: That was nice little speech, but you know…
Naruto.. sprinted towards Goro with speed and clapped his hands together as he threw several shuriken.
Naruto..: It’s not like you can kill us either!!
Goro easily avoided the shuriken, and as the Kazekage threw a punch at him, Goro tilted his head to the side to avoid it, and as he did, he grabbed his opponent’s arm and lifted him over his head, throwing him harshly to the ground. Goro stood straight and looked back towards the Mizukage, how stared in awe at how easily he overwhelmed the Kazekage in taijutsu.
Goro: You know…among our group, I’d venture to say my Taijutsu is the best. When I was younger they called me Zatoichi G. It had a nice ring to it, don’t you think.
The Mizukage quickly formed one handseal, and in a large burst of white smoke, he had summoned a large weapon consisting of a long hilt and a large clam-shaped structure at the head, forming a large clam-mace. The Mizukage struggled to lift the mace, but once he had, he spun around with effort, causing the mace to shoot out a powerful, heavy stream of water as it came around toward Goro. Goro, surprised by this, immediately leapt to his side to dodge. The water eroded much of the ground it hit, making a small crater. The Mizukage again started to haul the mace, this time lifting it above his head and bringing it down from above. The mace released another pressurized blast of water, but Goro did not attempt to avoid it. Instead, he brought his fist around to his right, creating a layer of solid rock around his arm, and put his hand out in front of him. When the water blast hit Goro’s palm, the layer of rock easily nullified the water blast and Goro crushed the attack as water splashed past him, leaving the Mizukage in total awe. Naruto.. rushed Goro from behind, attempting to stab him in the back, but his hand was immediately trapped when bone spikes protruded from Goro’s back, holding Naruto..’s arm in place.
TenzoX: Im…Impossible. With his bare hand…?
Goro: *smirks* My turn.
Goro lifted his arm, his palm facing down, and red chakra surrounded his hand. He immediately thrust his hand into the ground, creating a massive shockwave of red and black energy accompanied by several bone spikes from the ground that severely damaged the Mizukage and Kazekage while stabbing them in the stomach multiple times. When the blast had ended, Goro pushed Naruto.. off of him and dusted of his clothes. He pulled out a bone sword that rose from his left shoulder and started to walk away. Just as suddenly, however, Goro immediately turned around while bending backward to duck, heaving his bone sword at his target behind him. Just as Goro ducked, a powerful crescent-shaped blast of pressurized water and wind went over his head and penetrated deep into the wall. The Kazekage and Mizukage had suffered fatal wounds, but their injuries quickly started to heal rapidly. Goro was mortified, to say the least.
TenzoX: Did you think you would kill us with something like that?!
Goro: *sighs* I should’ve known. You’re Edo Tensei ninja, so you can’t die from fatal wounds like that. I guess I have no choice then…
Goro’s arm tensed. He lifted it, holding in front of his face dramatically as a layer of white bone armor surrounded it up to his elbow. Goro spoke again, this time with utmost gravity.
Goro: I’ll obliterate you molecule by molecule.
ELSEWHERE IN THE PALACE
Roku and the group arrived at a very large, yellow and black door made entirely of gold and obsidian at the center of the palace. They noticed, in the middle of the door, that there was a piece of paper with a seal on it. Ace, not noticing the seal, attempted to open the door, only to be repelled and sent crashing to the ground for several meters by a jolt of energy.
Hiruzen: Now that’s one high quality seal……let me give it a shot.
Hiruzen cracked his knuckles and approached the door. He then formed several hand seals and proceeded by slamming his hands directly on the door, and surprisingly, he wasn’t repelled. Nothing drastic happened, but there seemed to be a change in the air—a sense of relief. The piece of paper on the door slowly disintegrated moments later and the door seemed to gain some color to it.
Caliburn: Nice job, Hiruzen. That was a powerful seal. It would’ve taken a group of at least four Fuuinjutsu specialists to undo it under normal circumstances.
Hiruzen: It was a bit tricky, but all-in-all not too bad. What do expect from the Master of Seals?
Hiruzen tentatively reached for the door, but he hesitated.
Roku: Are you guys ready?
Akira: *sigh*
Ace: *gulp* Do it.
Hiruzen opened the door wide and the inner chamber of Kirabi’s palace could clearly and wholly be seen. The room was extremely massive, at least as large as an entire city block, and dome-shaped. At that moment, attention was centered on the figure in the middle of the room: Kirabi. Kirabi was sitting upon a solid gold and marble throne with his right arm rested upon the right arm of the throne, his fist against his face as he lazily sat with his eyes closed. When all eyes were on the famed, villainous man, Kirabi opened his eyes and, upon seeing who had entered his palace inner chamber, revealed a devious grin. This was the first time Roku had seen Kirabi clearly. He was wearing his kage robes and light-weight silver body armor underneath. His hair was down but cut just short of his shoulders, and he carried a white and gold staff with a white, spherical bulb at the top; this was the staff of the ancients. Roku and Kirabi locked eyes, and for just a moment, there was a dangerous aura about the inner chamber. Kirabi stood to his feet, rising from his throne, and began to clap.
Kirabi: Welcome, one and all. This is truly a most fated encounter. After your long and treacherous journey from the Land of Fire to Kumogakure’s palace within the Great Mountain, you all have finally entered the chamber of the prime villain, the big boss, the great antagonist. And you come with an invasion force to rival all other collective armies. I’m so very impressed. Up until the very end, your travels have made for a very entertaining show. And now here we are at the grand finale.
Roku: Kirabi…You’ve sure changed a bit since our last encounter.
Kirabi: …
Roku: Let me ask you something. What do you hope to accomplish through all of this?
Kirabi lifted an eyebrow to Roku’s question and pondered a solid answer. He then started to laugh.
Kirabi: Power, of course! Dominance! What man doesn’t seek those things? Do you really think anyone in this world has the power to rule without some form of enhancement? The Sage of Six Paths had his Rinnegan. Hashirama Senju possessed the ability to tame the Tailed Beasts. Now I have the Staff of the Ancients, and with it, my power will be increased exponentially. None shall stand before me.
Roku: If that’s so, why did you keep me alive when you could have done away with me back then?
Kirabi: It was necessary…That, you will know soon enough.
Roku: You truly do possess Mizutoki’s essence, both in your form of speech and in your ambition.
Kirabi: Indeed, partially anyway. My former self was far too incompetent to give birth to an idea of a new world. It was not until my years in the Hall of the Ancients that my eyes were truly opened to the secrets that lie underneath the dirt which we trample upon daily! And after searching for several years, I came across a prospect of taking command of this pathetic world and remaking it in my image. And all will bow and proclaim Kirabi-sama as king. With this staff comes the power to do all that I please—the power to wipe out entire countries with a wave of my hand. Do you understand what that means? *smirks* Well………enough talk. Now then, who will be the one to put an end to the life of the great Kirabi-sama. Will it be the famed Roku Kiyoshi? The Master of Seals Hiruzen Sarutobi? The Yin-Yang Sage Akira? The uncertain youth Ace? Or the spirited swordsman Caliburn?
Kirabi spread out his arms, beholding the scene while laughing maliciously. Hiruzen, Ace, Roku, Akira, and Caliburn felt very uneasy as Kirabi’s madness set in. Akira, however, focused his attention on Kirabi and lifted his index finger, causing a subtle surge of what seemed to be black and white energy to form around his finger without anyone’s notice.
Kirabi: No takers? It would be no fun for me to take the first move, especially not with such an interesting crowd. Oh well. It’s only a matter of time before…
Akira: Get down, Roku!
Just as Akira yelled, Roku ducked to the left and Akira shot forth a powerful blast of white and black yin-yang energy towards Kirabi, surprising the latter. As the blast approached Kirabi, Roku sprinted to the enemy and formed a blade of water around his hand. Kirabi smiled and surprisingly blocked Akira’s attack with his bare hand, seemingly absorbing it as it collided with his palm. Just as the blast had been absorbed by Kirabi, Roku jabbed at Kirabi from the side, attempting to decapitate him, but Kirabi immediately side-stepped and smacked Roku into the wall several hundred meters away with the back of his fist. The entire group was in awe. Kirabi then looked back at Akira and lifted two fingers towards Akira.
Kirabi: I believe this is yours…
At that moment, Kirabi fired from his fingers the same attack that Akira had released, this time with far more power and concentration. Akira frantically took a strong stance and placed his hands out in front of himself, covering them in Yin-Yang chakra. When the blast arrived, Akira blocked it with his two hands, struggling against the massive amount of energy put forth. Akira was started to be pushed back by the blast, however, and he could barely fight against it any longer. With all his might, Akira unleashed mass amounts of chakra and negated the blast, completely shattered the attack and cleared the front by spreading his arms apart as remnants of white and black energy flowed harmlessly past him before dissipating. Akira looked at his arms, which had suffered minor burns, and his hands were covered in patches of black.
Akira: I never imagined anyone would so effortlessly reflect my Yin-Yang attacks and return them with even more power than I put forth. The Staff of the Ancients sure is something…Roku, you all right?
Roku climbed out of the rubble comically and shouted.
Roku: I’m fine. Don’t count me out after a hit like that…but you know, Kirabi, you sure pack one hell of a punch. Is that your normal strength, or is it because of the Staff?
Kirabi: It isn’t as if you’ll ever have the opportunity to find out.
Kirabi suddenly tilted his head to the side and a beam of light passed him, tearing through every wall of the palace and piercing an unfortunate Kirigakure shinobi from several miles away in an instant.
Kirabi: That was a rather fast and powerful attack, Kiyoshi, Roku. To rip through the entire palace and still manage to pierce an unfortunate shinobi in the line of fire from miles away all in one moment is quite impressive.
Roku’s finger, tip covered in yellow light, was pointed toward Kirabi, and he was baffled that Kirabi so effortlessly avoided the attack.
Roku: Nobody has ever reacted to our Light Beam, Akira. I never would have guessed the Staff of the Ancients offered a form of precognition.
Kirabi: It wasn’t precognition. My reactions are simply enhanced to that degree. Now, if you would…
Before Kirabi could finish his statement, Caliburn appeared above him and Hiruzen and Ace came from his right and left sides respectively. Hiruzen spun around with a scroll in hand, unwinding it in a spiral around his body, summoning forth a barrage of ninja tools which Kirabi quickly avoided, and as Ace stretched his arm out to punch, Kirabi grabbed his wrist and flung him upward, causing Ace to crash into Caliburn and disrupt the latter’s attack. Kirabi then brought the Staff of the Ancients around and positioned it in front of him, where Hiruzen was, causing Hiruzen to be sent flying by an invisible force of energy. As Hiruzen fell, he clicked his teeth and a large explosion spontaneously appeared around Kirabi. Everyone, in awe, could not understand what had just happened, but they were slightly relieved. The relief, however, was short-lived as Kirabi quickly dashed through the heavy smoke created by the explosion, almost completely unharmed.
Kirabi: Incredible. Explosive tags hidden within kunai knives…I didn’t suspect a thing…
Hiruzen: o_o He’s…not even scratched!
Kirabi: Come now…
Kirabi, with his left hand, motioned Hiruzen toward himself, and Hiruzen was suddenly lifted against his will toward Kirabi by an invisible gravity-like force. As Hiruzen approached Kirabi rapidly against his control, Kirabi prepared to impale him with his staff of the ancients, but a powerful blast of wind from the east suddenly hit Hiruzen, pushing him out of Kirabi’s line of sight and causing him to roll before regaining his balance and sliding to a crouch several meters away from Kirabi. Almost immediately afterward, a brilliant white bolt of lightning the size of a large toward struck Kirabi, creating a massive area of powerful electrical discharge, wearing away the entire ceiling of the dome, allowing the sky to show. Outside was still reminiscent of blue-hour, but the aura had changed. It was gradually becoming gloomier, and light grey clouds were accumulating. As the smoke and debris from the lightning cleared, parts of Kirabi’s body could be seen through the clearing ozone and smoke. Kirabi stepped out, completely undamaged but with a very stern, serious look on his face. He was glaring up at the base of the dome (where the dome began), and standing upon a rock platform were Ragnaroc and Madara, both glaring back at Kirabi with focus.
Kirabi: So the Lightning and Wind Sages make a stormy entrance…how fitting.
