The 6th Great Ninja War

Chapter XXXII: The Ubiquitous Invasion

Sorry for the late chapter. I wanted to get a bit ahead before releasing any new chapters, and I was very busy with RL stuff. Well, here it is. Enjoy! This and the coming chapters should be epic

Within the palace district of kumogakure, on land in a rather large, centralized valley of a local mountain which barely rose out of the waters in the land, the Kumogakure army stood ready to attack. The rest of Kumogakure’s army was spread around the village at the waterfront to the south and southeast, and to the northwest and northern corners. In the middle of the Kumogakure and Kirigakure armies was a battalion of 99 Iwagakure shinobi, who were clearly missing one of their more esteemed members. Nonetheless, they stood as a firm unit, unaffected. The battlefield around the palace was quite large and expanse, especially considering how massive the mountain which the palace was situated was. The sky retained its color, light emanating through the world by natural light reflected from the clouds and the many candles illuminating the palace city of Kumogakure. The army waited in anticipation for moments that seemed like hours. Then, bit by bit, increasing sounds of footsteps came. They grew louder and louder until they came to the sound of a march. The army saw from the southwest a bit of white and then a flag. Then, Roku stepped forward at the top of the valley, followed by Caliburn, Ace, and Akira. Roku’s army and the opposing armies readied themselves for combat. The Kiyoshi warriors lifted their golden and silver spears and seemed to raise a flood of Energy from nowhere.

Roku: The 100 Stone Army…or should I say, 99 Stone Army *smirks* What a powerful force they’ve assembled. But…

Akira: The combined power of the Sage Army is an unstoppable force..........Roku…

Roku: Yeah?

Akira: Let’s rock this bitch.

Roku: Indeed. Akira, mind taking care of the guards in the entrance zone of the palace?

Akira: No problem. I’ll see you there. *forms handseal* Light Man…Light Rider

In an instant, Akira zoomed past the entire Kumogakure and Kirigakure army and blasted through the gates of the palace where he entered the first zone of the palace interior to deal with the guards there. Roku commanded the Kiyoshi warriors with Caliburn and the 100 Stone Army launched the first attack, a large sphere of earth comparable in size to a large hill. The Kiyoshi army held their spears defensively, but then, when Caliburn drew his katana, the Kiyoshi warriors began to twirl their spears, building up large amounts of Energy, and they swung in the direction of the earth sphere, sending out a large amount of blue and green Energy that completely eroded the rock formation to bits. The Kumogakure army looked in shock. Then, the Kirigakure soldiers stationed in the area charged forward, followed by the Kumogakure soldiers, and then the soldiers of the 100 Stone Army. The Kiyoshi warriors readied themselves and then charged forward, running along the side of the valley of the mountain to engage the opposing army in combat. At the moment the two sides clashed, chaos ensued, and the war had begun. Jutsus and Energy were flying across the battlefield violently, destroying the landscape by the second. Several Kumogakure shinobi engaged some Kiyoshi warriors in combat, slashing at them left and right, creating gashes across each others’ bodies. Roku watched the battle carefully from above, and Caliburn rushed into the battlefield with great acceleration, immediately turning the tides of several small skirmishes on the battlefield. With each opponent he engaged, Caliburn almost effortlessly cut them down with a quick swing of his sword. One Kumogakure leapt into the air, preparing to strike Caliburn horizontally from above, but Caliburn, sensing his Energy, drew his sword on his back, using the blade of the weapon to block the attack from his back. When the blades clashed, Caliburn completely drew his longsword from his back, launching the Kumogakure swordsman in front of him.

Caliburn: Well, well, another swordsman. You’ve got some good reflexes.

Kumogakure Shinobi: Cloud Style: Crescent Moon Drop

The Kumogakure shinobi rushed towards Caliburn and dropped his sword from above in an arc, but Caliburn effortlessly sidestepped the attack to his right and brought his katana in his left hand to his right. Suddenly, the Kumogakure shinobi noticed the deep cut across his chest and he fell to his knees. Caliburn wiped the blood off of his sword and walked forward casually, but the Kumogakure shinobi did not relent. He used all his might to stand again and charge for Caliburn, despite his injured state. Caliburn, in response to this, simply turned his head and opened his left palm toward the ninja.

Caliburn: I’ll commend your resilience. Grand Energy Wave…

The moment Caliburn said this, a giant wave of semi-invisible Energy burst out his palm and sent the Kumogakure shinobi crashing through the army while also wiping out a wave of Kirigakure and Kumogakure ninja that happened to be in the area of effect for the Energy wave while also decimating several buildings. Two other Kiyoshis, Jinbei and Mugen, barely avoided the massive wave of Energy and proceeded to take down several ninja with repeated punches and kicks, all which drew from Hung Ga martial arts.

Mugen: Master Caliburn, do you mind?

Jinbei: Yeah! You could’ve hit us both, you know! >_<

Caliburn: My bad… *looks at Roku* Master, why aren’t you fighting? Saving your power for Kirabi?

Roku: You could say that…Besides, this isn’t my fight.

TO THE SOUTH

On the waterfront, Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure shinobi stood in wait, prepared for any ambushes on the waterfront. The waterfront was a good distance from the wide mountain which housed the palace, but much of Kumogakure village was located in the same area around the mountain and housing the waterfront. Not too far from the shore, Hellsbadass and his sage apprentices approached underwater, unseen and undetected. Hellsbadass stopped everyone for the moment to access the situation. He slowly rose to the surface of the water, only lifting his head above the surface of the water so that he could see with his eyes the waterfront. Once he took in the situation, he re-submerged. The apprentices spoke underwater.

Water Sage Apprentice: What’s the situation, Master?

Hellsbadass: They’ve got a lot of Iwagakure and Kumogakure shinobi out there. This could be a problem.

Emperor: If it’s a matter of preventing them from forming adequate defenses, I can take care of that.

Hellsbadass: o_O Go for it, then.

Emperor swam deep into the water, trying to get as far beneath the surface as he could so that the shinobi on land would not notice him. Then, when he had reached a certain level of depth, Emperor approached the mainland of the village and touched the portion of earth that was underwater.

Emperor: Mayfly.

Emperor suddenly merged with the earth and became connected with the very island on which the village stood.

Emperor: This is a rather large island. The village on it is even larger than Konoha and Kirigakure. Now then…how should I take these guys out?

The shinobi on the waterfront suddenly felt the ground shaking, but they couldn’t figure out the cause of it. Emperor’s presence was hidden quite well. Then, a large amount of greenish vapor rose from the ground, surprising the ninja on the waterfront and causing them to rally. While looking around, the ninja could not figure the cause of the vapor, and suddenly, a giant green vine burst out of the ground and wrapped around four ninja, tossing them high into the air to fall to the ground violently. The shinobi were greatly alarmed by this and prepared to attack the vine when a pair of vines burst out of the ground behind them and took out several other ninja, tossing them across the village and into the water. Emperor, by this method, created chaos and confusion among the waterfront ninja, prompting Hellsbadass and his apprentices to attack. Suddenly, Emperor’s giant vines retracted into the earth and there was silence. The Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Kirigakure soldiers looked around in confusion, anticipating the next attack, but what happened next caused the Kirigakure soldiers to be stunned with fear. The area started to become obscure as a thick mist formed around the land, making it very difficult to see. The Kirigakure shinobi stood in awe and fear, for they knew who was behind this.

Iwagakure Shinobi: What’s going on?!

Kirigakure Shinobi: …*gulp* The Hidden Mist Technique…the God of the Silent Killing technique is here…

Hellsbadass suddenly appeared behind the Kirigakure shinobi that just spoke, unbeknownst to the latter.

Hellsbadass: Damn right.

With a single kunai, Hellsbadass slit the Kirigakure shinobi’s neck, causing him to shriek loudly before dying immediately afterwards. Birds flew rapidly away from the area at the sound of death, and the onslaught began.

TO THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST

A large group of Kumogakure shinobi were stationed with a large barrier of pure lightning set up to protect the area from all assault. After a few minutes, the group noticed something off into the distance which seemed to not only get closer but also increase in numbers. At that point, in the distance, it seemed as if a swarm of birds was approaching the area, but when the shinobi took a closer look, they realized that it was rather a swarm of ninja, flying towards them. Each was wearing a white and slate-gray robe and appeared to be riding the currents in the air. The Kumogakure shinobi focused their chakra and began to launch a large number of Raiton jutsu towards the flying shinobi, but the latter group countered each lightning blast with a barrage of Fuuton techniques, much to the Kumogakure shinobi’s surprise. Suddenly, the barrier of lightning disappeared as it was hit by a large blast of wind from above, knocking several Kumogakure ninja aside. Then, for a moment there was silence as a rather swift figure silently landed, crouching, in the middle of the group of ninja. The swift figure stood and removed his white, gray, and sky-blue robe, leaving only a basic outfit consisting of light blue shinobi pants, a white long-sleeved shirt, and bandages wrapped around both hands and arms a bit more than midway to the elbows. When the figure stood, the ninja around him suddenly became aware of his presence, but for them it was too late, as the figure immediately incapacitated them with a series of aerial whirlwind kicks and punches, utilizing mid-air combat very effectively. When one shinobi tried to stab the figure in the back, the latter casually performed a back flip without looking and performed a midair whirlwind kick into the shinobi’s neck, knocking him unconscious. With this, the Kumogakure shinobi turned their attention to the man and rushed towards him, but then, they suddenly felt time slowing as the man formed a single handseal. In their eyes, they could barely move and felt as if the figure had complete control of time and space.

???: Jikoku Ayatsuri (Time Manipulation)…a technique that makes my targets believe I have control over space and time. Scary isn’t it, how your body can reduce your effectiveness to nothing out of fear.

The figure suddenly appeared behind the group of ninja as they crashed into one another trying to grab the figure at the center of them. Then, the man stomped his right foot on the ground and smirked.

???: Wind Release: Great Wind Upheaval

With these words, a large amount pressure built up in the earth under the group of ninja until a large blast of wind burst out of the ground and sent the shinobi flying into the air only to have them drop to the ground violently.

???: Hail to the Wind Sage.

Suddenly, another voice was heard in the distance as the wind sage apprentices began their aerial assault on the area.

???: Fire Release: Lion’s Lair!

A huge crescent-shaped blast of fire suddenly came from above and grazed a great deal of the solid rock ground while injuring about 5 Kumogakure shinobi at one time. Ragnaroc, the wind sage, frantically avoided the backlash of the flames in a comedic fashion.

Ragnaroc: :rag: Watch where you’re aiming that, Liliana!

Liliana: My apologies, Rag-san. ;)

AT THE PALACE VALLEY

Roku and his Kiyoshi warriors continued fighting against the Kumogakure, Kirigakure, and Iwagakure armies, but neither side seemed to falter in strength. Roku’s group was greatly outnumbered and could not hold up much longer, especially considering the effectiveness of the 100 Stone Army’s synchronization. A group of five Iwagakure shinobi started to charge forward while one stood back and formed handseals, unleashing an earth technique that caused a large, rectangular prism-shaped slab of earth to rise out of the ground underneath the 5 shinobi and launch them forward into the air as they spat large spheres of mud from their mouths, greatly changing the landscape and knocking down an entire building just from the trembling of the earth under the pressure of the massive battle. One Kiyoshi warrior was sent flying across the battlefield harshly when an unexpected slab of earth slammed into him from the side. Caliburn turned in shock and rushed to help his fellow Kiyoshi member when a group of Kirigakure shinobi blocked him and Caliburn engaged in battle with them.

Roku: This isn’t good. There are many of them, but I need to reserve my chakra…just once…

Roku raised his hand, preparing to attack, but he was abruptly interrupted by a rain of ice shards from above that shifted the attention of everyone on the battlefield to the skies. Above was a giant, icy blue dragon with a long white beard and large wings. Atop the dragon’s back was Zanji, smiling confidently down on the battlefield as his apprentices landed from above to aid the battle effort.

Roku: Zanji!!

Zanji: Don’t worry about it. We’ve got you covered.

Zanji dismounted his dragon and landed next to Roku. The ice dragon landed near Zanji.

Zanji: Where’s Bisha?

Roku: I’m surprised they’re taking so long to get here. Until he arrives, we should focus on holding the front here. There’s plenty of space around which to divert the action.

Zanji: How’s the situation elsewhere.

Roku: Grimm is handling the situation pretty well, but they’re at a bit of a disadvantage due to the Iwagakure ninja stationed on the waterfront. Then, there’s the 100 Stone Army here, and they’re pretty troublesome to deal with.

Zanji: You don’t say? o_O No wonder you’re group is having trouble handling the situation. The 100 Stone Army is no joke. Saving your chakra for the fight ahead, are you?

Roku: Somewhat. At the very least, this isn’t my fight. My warriors must learn not to rely on their Master to win battles for them.

Zanji: You sure you should be doing that in a situation like this?

Roku: Relax. You know as much as I do, the Sage Army is possibly a near unstoppable force. We won’t go down easily.

Zanji: Akira’s gone ahead, right?

Roku: Yeah. Could you and your apprentices divert the Kumogakure shinobi to the north end of the palace district? It should be several blocks that way *points*

Zanji: It’s pretty far away. I’ll see what I can do, though.

Zanji jumped into the valley below with his dragon and flew across the valley to the northern area of the palace district. His apprentices grabbed their enemies and attempted to follow Zanji, further provoking the opposing shinobi into carrying their battle elsewhere. Once all was done with, a few Kumogakure shinobi remained in the area along with a large amount of Kirigakure shinobi and the 100 Stone Army. Roku sighed and continued to watch the battle.

???: He’s awfully hasty today, isn’t he.

Roku turned upon hearing a voice from behind him. Though expecting only one person, he saw a rather complete sight. Standing in front of him was a fair-skinned man, who looked to be in his late twenties or early thirties, with short, loose, brown hair and brown eyes and was clothed in brown and tan sage robes and held a flag with the kanji for “Earth” on it. Beside him were Goro and Hiruzen, and behind them was Kento and a large group of apprentices wearing brown and tan robes as well, though less intricate than the man who had spoken. Roku smiled

???: You look surprised.

Roku: It took you long enough to arrive, B-sama.

Bishamon: It seems we’re all here. Elias’ apprentices just arrived to the west of the village.

Roku: Great. So, can I count on you?

Bishamon: Don’t worry. We’ll take care of the army here and your warriors. You and Caliburn go on ahead. We’ll meet you in the innermost room. That’s where Kirabi should be.

Roku: Goro, Hiruzen, mind coming along?

Hiruzen and Goro: Let’s go! :D

Roku, Ace, Hiruzen, and Goro headed toward the palace and Caliburn followed. They blasted through the two armies with great speed, avoiding any confrontation by the enemy until they reached the palace. A few Kiyoshi warriors attempted to follow Roku’s group in order to aid them in the palace. Once they were out of the way, Bishamon stepped forward with his apprentices, overlooking the battlefield.

Bishamon: The 100 Stone Army. Now isn’t this a nostalgic sight.

Kento: *sighs* My old group. They won’t be too happy about me leaving ~_~’

Bishamon held his right arm out to his right with his hand facing outward while lifted.

Bishamon: Scatter…

At this notion, Bishamon’s entire group spread out and joined the battlefield, confronting the enemy head-on, as is the nature of Earth itself.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! And epic. I loved the Sage's fight. They really incorporate the elements! I love love love this battle.

Btw, nice of you to pick up a jutsu of mine. Though it failed in comparison to the epicness of the sages, it still was really nice for me :lili:
