Chapter VII: The Closing Gates
Somewhere in the Land of Lightning, Bishamon and Ragnaroc exited a prison which had just been liberated. Ragnaroc looked around at all the fallen cloud shinobi which they had just killed and defeated before taking a breath of relief. Bishamon’s face turned to shock as he saw a messenger hawk approaching.
Ragnaroc: Oh boy, that was fun, huh, Bsama? 0_0
Bishamon: Yeah…sureeeee….0_o
Bishamon held his arm out so the messenger hawk could land. It perched onto his arm gently and allowed him to remove the letter attached to it. Bishamon unraveled the note and proceeded to read it. Horror struck his face. Ragnaroc looked up at Bishamon in confusion.
Ragnaroc: What’s wrong, Bsama?
Bishamon: Rei…is dead O_O And so is the Kazekage.
Ragnaroc: Please tell me you’re joking 0_0
Bishamon: *clenches fist* No…they’ve killed the Hokage and Kazekage. The once great shinobi alliance between the Leaf and the Sand is crumbling. Not only that, but from what Elias said, Grimm killed the Mizukage, which only leaves the Raikage and Tsuchikage. As the last two Kages, Kirabi is going to definitely make alliances with the Iwagakure ninja, and the fate of the world will be sealed.
Ragnaroc: We’ve got to put a stop to this. I still can’t believe Rei was killed 0_0 *slams fist against the ground* She was the strongest kunoichi of the times. For someone to have defeated her…it’s insane. Nobody left in the village could have pulled it off, so it had to be a ninja from another village, and a powerful one at that. Not to mention how they killed the Kazekage.
Bishamon: This note…it says that the Seven Swordsmen got to the Kazekage over three days ago O_O
Ragnaroc: It’s a good thing we’re holding this meeting in two days, because someone's going to need to get to the Raikage and kick his ass. >=/
MEANWHILE
Mugiwara: You’re dead meat!
*clenches fists*
Mugiwara disappeared in a flash and reappeared next to Goro, who tried to dodge but was surprised to find that he could not, to deliver an insanely powerful punch that sent Goro crashing far into the sturdy walls of the settlement, making several large cracks. Goro stumbled forward and almost fell, but kept his balance nonetheless. Mugiwara shouted and then rushed at Goro again, but as he was about to kick Goro through the wall, Hiruzen appeared above him, thrusting what seemed to be a giant drill around his arm made entirely of a clear but elegant mineral.
Mugiwara: *looks up* O.O
Hiruzen: >=| Earth Release: Diamond Drill!
Hiruzen’s drill pierced Mugiwara in his back and crashed into the ground, creating a small crater from the massive impact. Mugiwara gasped for a breath of air as the large diamond drill was impaled in his back and he was grounded. Goro looked surprised.
Hiruzen: No matter what Yoshino-san said, I wasn’t going to leave my best friend to die.
Goro: Thanks, Hiruzen. *pant* *pant* I don’t understand…I should’ve been able to dodge his punch. I feel weakened……………U_U However…
Mugiwara: ……
Goro grabbed Mugiwara’s head and held it up to face him.
Goro: *pant* *pant* Look who’s dead meat now. I should enjoy feeding you to Odin.
Mugiwara: 5th Gate of Closing: Release.
Goro: O_O
Goro jumped back as Mugiwara’s energy exploded again, cracking Hiruzen’s diamond slightly.
Goro: This is bad…*gets into 8 Gates stance*
Mugiwara: 6th Gate of View: Release!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now Hiruzen’s diamond drill shattered completely and Mugiwara leaped into the air, releasing a power surge that knocked down both Goro and Hiruzen. He took a stance, spreading his arms and legs widely apart.
Hiruzen: Isn’t that…O_O
Goro: That’s my move
Mugiwara: Get ready >=|
Mugiwara disappeared with blinding speed and grabbed Goro with his right hand and then Hiruzen with his left after disappearing and reappearing again. Then, he began to spin in the air, remaining in the previous stance. The air around him began to spiral, creating a vortex of wind and powerful chakra surrounded the vortex. Mugiwara suddenly dived into the ground, putting Goro and Hiruzen first to be crushed!
Mugiwara: Shikkyaku Fuusha!!!!!!!!!! (Falling Windmill)
???: Raiton: Baindingu Heika (Lightning Release: Binding Swords)
Just as Mugi was about to slam Goro and Hiruzen into the ground harshly and set them to blazes, ten swords made purely of yelloq lightning impaled Mugiwara from different angles, suspending him in midair. Though they seemed to impale him, Mugiwara didn’t appear to have taken any damage. Goro and Hiruzen looked in astonishment, shocked from how close they were to near-certain death. Mugiwara dropped out of his eight gates mode and looked exhausted.
Mugiwara: What the hell is this? O_O I can’t break out!! *pant*
Kiwii: Captain! O_O
Roku: I figured that you guys would be able to handle anything, but I didn’t anticipate for Mugi and Wrath to show up. Despite the fact that Goro could’ve probably taken you both on by himself, you’ve got the upper hand due to the barrier you placed around the perimeter.
Wrath: What? O_O How did you…
Roku held up a seal with a kanji for “weaken” marked on it. It was overflowing with chakra.
Roku: From what I was able to observe, it weakens the victim’s chakra capacity substantially and reduces their reaction time. It could easily turn very skilled shinobi into nothing more than bugs. No offense, Kiwii O_O
Kiwii: None taken o_o
Mugiwara: What is this?! >.<
Roku: Lightning Release: Binding Swords. At your propulsion downward, you couldn’t have been more vulnerable. It stabs the victim with 10 harmless swords that restrict movement. Even with the gates open, you’re still an easy target, Mugi.
Mugiwara: Bastard!!!
Wrath leaped at Roku from the side and punched him with his right fist, but Roku promptly grabbed Wrath’s fist and clenched it in his grasp.
Roku: Yuuen Bakuhatsu (Grand Explosion)
White pure chakra surged through Roku’s hand and then through Wrath’s, spreading out across his arm until the energy within began to expand. Then, suddenly, BOOM! Wrath’s arm exploded and blood shot out messily. Wrath’s eyes widened greatly and he screamed out so loudly that the entire world would’ve heard his cry. Wrath flailed back and forth, grasping his arm, trying to stop the severe bleeding. Mugiwara’s facial expression turned to anger.
Roku: U_U Don’t mess with the Kiyoshi.
Mugiwara: To think that you would be able to stop us this easily…it makes me furious!!!!
Mugiwara’s anger exploded and so did his chakra. The ten swords dispersed and he dropped Hiruzen and Goro. They both jumped a good distance away. Goro felt his strength rushing back to him suddenly. Roku watched calmly at a distance as Mugiwara’s chakra funneled madly around him. Kiwii and Ace watched intently. Roku smiled and gave a thumbs up to Goro and Hiruzen.
Mugiwara: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kiwii: *sneezes* Excuse me O_O What’s going on, though. Why’s he still getting more powerful even though he’s not opened any more gates?
Ace: He’s trying to bypass the gates altogether and enter into the full Eighth Gate of Death Release. O_O He’s dying for the sake of this mission…how can he be so corrupted?
Goro: Poor Mugi…brainwashed by Kirabi and his army of traitors. *unwraps arm bandages* Let’s do this, Hiruzen.
Hiruzen: Okay!
Goro wiped the blood off his face.
Goro and Hiruzen: Ultimate Taijutsu Method!
Goro and Hiruzen both bowed their heads and as soon as they looked up, a surge of chakra blasted outward around them as they instantly entered the Eight Gates mode.
Goro and Hiruzen: 7th Gate: Wonder Gate, Release!!!!!
Mugiwara was still screaming, trying to enter into the 8th Gate mode. Goro and Hiruzen promptly vanished from sight and then reappeared in front of him, Hiruzen quickly forming a powered-up diamond drill on his left arm and Goro’s right fist flaring up with purple flames. Mugiwara roared and dashed at the two ninja. He lifted his fist, filled with agony, trying to do anything to deal one deadly blow.
Hiruzen and Goro: Goruzen Super Special Awesome Combo!! Hell Shaking Diamond Blast!!
Unfortunately for him, Goro and Hiruzen were too fast and powerful, and their attacks ripped through his fist, Hiruzen’s drill stabbing him in the chest and Goro’s punch striking him in the face, launching Mugiwara a kilometer away and making a large crater where he stood. Hiruzen and Goro let out a sigh of relief after dropping out of the Eight Gates mode. Roku smiled and shook his head in satisfaction.
Kiwii: Woah. Unnecessarily long name for a technique ~_~
Goro: *pant* It was, I guess.
Roku: Nice job, guys. Though the use of that technique was unnecessary as well. Still, nonetheless, awesome combination jutsu. ^_^
Yoshino: Roku! What do we do about him *points to Wrath*
Wrath was flailing on the ground, gasping for life. His eyes showed his longing to be rid of the intense pain. Roku smirked and gave Yoshino a signal.
Roku: Take him with you, where he can't be found, and confine him on Mount Fang till I've come up with a plan.
Yoshino nodded and knocked out Wrath with one precise strike to his body. He picked up Wrath’s body.
Yoshino: I will take him back with me to be examined. Good luck with the rest of the mission.
Roku: Thanks, Yoshino-san.
Yoshino formed one handseal and disappeared, with Wrath, in a puff of smoke. Goro snickered for a moment and then fell flat on the ground, unconscious. Roku picked Goro up, putting his arm around his back, and began to walk towards the settlement.
Roku: You've put on weight, Goro >.>'. Come on into the settlement. Rest up, because tomorrow, I’ve got something important to tell you guys.
Kiwii: About what?
Hiruzen: Yeah, what?. O_O
Roku: ……let’s just say…I’ve a meeting to attend *smirks*
