Chapter III: Reap the Liberty
(This week's theme music...
Roku and the rest of the team walked casually into a hot spring resort where Goro jumped immediately into the men?s hot spring. Roku paid for their rooms and then took out his notebook to write the mission progress report. Hiruzen, Kiwii, and Ace all got into the hot spring water to relax.
Goro: Ahhh! This is the life. Just the thing to get those ninja mission troubles off your mind for a second.
Kiwii: Isn?t it? I love hot springs.
Hiruzen swam slowly towards the women?s hot spring fence.
Goro: *looks at Hiruzen* Research?
Hiruzen: >.> yep.
Ace: Hey, guys, what?s with Captain Roku? He really needs to chill out and quit worrying about this mission. He?s always writing stuff down in his notebook as if his life depended on it.
Goro: I guess that?s just how important this mission is. Usually he?s a lot more fun, and not isolating.
Kiwii: You?re all too serious *squirts hot water out of mouth* ^.^
AT AN UNKNOWN LOCATION
???: Set the plan into motion. Our targets are these three people, and they won?t even see it coming.
ONE DAY LATER (In Konoha)
Rei stood at the top of the Hokage building, facing thousands of Konoha citizens, with the jounin of Konoha lined up in the front and the chunin in the back. She gave her speech.
Rei: Citizens of the Hidden Leaf Village, do not be afraid. Do not falter! And do not distress! We live in a time and age that is much like the past, yet much different from it. Most of you have heard rumors of inevitable war, but I assure you that I will prevent war from occurring! Our country and the Land of Wind are both working to negotiate a plan to make a truce with Kumogakure?s tyrant leader and put a stop to the madness that has sealed the world in barbaric battle over the past few weeks! Together, we will reunite the Ninja World and bring greater peace than ever before!
The crowds of numerous people cheer. Then silence after 5 minutes of clapping and shouting.
Man: I disagree! The Leaf Village will fall and Kirabi-sama will rule over the shinobi world as its supreme ruler! >:O
Rei: What? 0_o Who are you?!
Man: *smirks* A guy who just can?t get enough of a kick out of battle as there used to be in this world. We need war, so that this pathetic nation can crumble! Say goodbye to this place!
Silhouettes of about 15 ninja appeared on top of the buildings of Konoha and each formed one hand seal.
Rei: Kumogakure ninja? O_O
The ninja all screamed in unison, and in a moment, large sparks of lightning exploded everywhere, surging from person to person, electrocuting helpless and innocent bystanders.
Rei: Chunin, Jounin!! Capture him!
The man started to run toward the nearest exit and the crowds started to disperse in a wild quandary, filled with terror and excitement. Several Chunin threw kunai at him, but he dodged each one, and when they encountered him physically, he incapacitated each one with his bare hands. He was finally at the exit? The man hid behind a tree covered with bushes to both sides before the jounin caught up with him.
Man: *sigh* (they won?t be able to find me)
Jounin: Search the forest!
The jounin spread out, and one, whose name was Kiba, caught the man as he tried to escape. Kiba locked his arms behind his back.
Kiba: We got ya, you son of a bitch. :|
Jounin Leader: Take him to the interrogation cell. We?ll get our best torture facility to check him out. Don?t lay your eyes off him a single second. He?s dangerous. I can tell.
AN HOUR LATER?
Roku was reading his Bingo Book when a messenger hawk suddenly perched itself on his windowsill. There was a note attached to its leg. Roku untied it and read it quickly. He then crumpled up the sheet of paper. He got out of his bed immediately and headed for everyone else?s rooms. Roku entered Ace?s room, surprising Ace, who was getting ready to go downstairs.
Ace: Roku? O_O
Roku: Pack your things. We?re leaving?now.
Ace: Did something happen?
Roku: We?re being tracking this instant. Gather the others and head north. There?s a Kiyoshi Settlement not too far from here where you can stay and rest and restock.
Ace: Being tracked? By who?! O_O Wait?where?re you going?
Roku: I need to find the nearest call station. You four will be safe while I?m gone. I?m leaving you in capable hands after all.
Ace: This is all crazy?! Who?s tracking us. What capable hands?
Roku: You don?t have much time, just go! I don?t know how the hell they found us, but they did. Now do what I say if you want to stay alive.
Roku dropped a scroll on the ground.
Roku: Read it once you are all packed and ready. Then, do what it says.
And on that note, Roku darted off in a flash, on his way to a ?call station?. Ace picked up the scroll tentatively and threw it into his backpack.
IN KONOHAGAKURE
There was a knock at the Hokage?s office door. Amaya rushed to the door and opened it. It was a konoha jounin.
Rei: *without looking up* What is it?
Jounin: Lady Hokage, we have identified the man who disrupted the speech as Kirabi.
Rei: *looks up with intent* WHAT?! O_O
Jounin: It?s no longer safe in the village. We have to move him.
Rei : You left that insane, overpowered bastard in the holding cell?!
Jounin: I can assure you, ma?am, that he was under the utmost protection to ensure that he does not escape!
Rei: You fools! Why didn?t you send an Anbu to me? It?s been an hour since his capture. I should?ve been notified over half-an-hour ago!
Rei slammed her fist onto her desk, smashing it to bits. She got out of her chair angrily and pushed the Jounin aside.
Rei: Follow me, Amaya, and you Jounin. You?d better hope that nobody?s dead.
Moments later, Rei, the Jounin, and Amaya arrived at the holding cell for interrogation. It was a big facility, and normally heavily guarded?except for now. There were no guards in sight. Rei clenched her fists. They kept walking until they approached Kirabi?s holding cell. Rei prepared to open the door.
Rei: Cover me.
She grabbed the handle and flung the door open, ready to attack, but what they saw was gruelingly worse than they had anticipated. Not only was Kirabi not there, but there was a pile of dead guard bodies in the center of the holding cell. Several Jounin?s and Chunin?s lives had not been spared.
Rei: o_o That son of a?we were too late.
Jounin: Yeah?*smirks* unfortunately, you were.
Amaya: Lady Hokage!!
Amaya leaped forward as the Jounin transformed into...Kirabi! In a puff of smoke that blew Amaya back, trashing her head against a wall, he almost killed her. Kirabi stabbed Rei in a vital spot on her back with one of his swords, lightning rippling through the blade, paralyzing the Hokage.
Amaya: La?lady?r?Rei?U_U
Rei: >_O You?ll pay for this?
Kirabi: Pfft. Don?t make me laugh.
An array of butterflies made entirely out of purple-pink chakra fluttered about as Rei grasped for breath, being suffocated by Kirabi. Several of the butterflies bit him and tried to inject poison into his skin, but Kirabi surged lightning through his body, destroying the poison through electrical discharge.
Kirabi: Die with your stupid butterflies. >=\
Kirabi dropped Rei, leaving the sword in her back to shock her until she died. Rei struggled to utter one last word before dying, and when she did, Kirabi?s eyes widened.
Rei: x_O Lady Butterfly?art?
Kirabi: What the hell? 0_o
Rei: Last?wish?
Rei?s body deteriorated and then, unexpectedly, exploded into a million purple butterflies that fluttered around the entire building chaotically. The butterflies suddenly flapped in one place and then transformed into increasingly large spheres of purple-pink chakra.
Kirabi: Uh oh! O_O
The spheres continued to grow, and they even combined, widening and enlarging until they all formed one gigantic compact sphere of chakra that consumed the entire building. Kirabi managed to barely escape the range of the massive sphere. He marveled it and then picked two flowers from the ground. The chakra finally disappeared, leaving nothing but a giant crater in its wake. Along with the building, it had consumed all of the guards that Kirabi had corrupted and set there.
Kirabi: Hmph?she really had the spirit of the Will of Fire. Kudos to you, Rei. *drops flowers*
He sighed and looked up.
Kirabi: That?s one down?the other two should be going down soon enough.

EPILOGUE
In Sunagakure's Kazekage Office...
Ninja: Lord Kazekage, you must leave. They've named you as their next target. If Kirabi's army gets to you...
Kazekage: I'll be fine. Nothing they throw at me will be able to take me down.
The Kazekage looked into the distant sky to see what looked like a stone very high up in the air, falling. However, as it approached, it's true form revealed it to be a javelin which came crashing down quickly, killing the Kazekage's secretary. Five ninja with Kirigakure headbands came closer to the Kazekage, armed with several weapons and items.
Kazekage: The hidden mist's very own Seven Swordsmen...what do you want with me.
???: Nothing important, Lord Kazekage. Just your life.
Kazekage: Wait, you're...O_O
The Swordsmen all pulled their weapons out, paralyzing the Kazekage with fear.
???: Yeah, I know. A konoha shinobi? That's what they think...I even put on the fake headband while I was in there. But in truth, I'm one of Kirigakure's finest. The name's Kaito...Uchiha, Kaito. And so is he...Wrath...finish him.
Wrath: *approaches Kazekage* With pleasure. *smirks*
