the 3rd hokage can beat madara

the reason i came to this conclusion was because of a few things

1) in his prime he was Known as the god of shinobi across all the land
2)using the next generation surpasess the previous thing he was the prize student of the Tobirama and Hashirama , and the later bested Madara at full Power
3) He was revered as the strongest kage alive at the beginning of Naruto even in his old age
4) He beat orochimaru who at the time was close to full power and using impure world resurrection
5)he makes fire and earth look so damn god

You could even argue that he was the strongest shinobi ever or very colse to the top Defs in the top 5

old my a**! He beat orochimaru when he was pushing 150, he could very likely kill madara...but he would also kill himself too...which doesn't really make him that awesome, because he died. But that also makes him honorable, which is awesome too, so yeah he's awesome I guess

Way to overrate the third. The third barely breaks into the top ten now. I think you are the only person on this site that thinks Hiruzen can beat Madara. Hiruzen didn't have any special jutsu that he was known for, or special attribute other than mastering the basic jutsu of his village. I say basic because there are alot of stuff he couldn't master like chidori, or rasengan, or specific summons, or any KG, etc. And you don't know anything about the Hashirama v. Madara fight so don't say because Hashirama did it then so could Hiruzen. Hiruzen doesn't have mokuton to help him, and we don't know what abilities Madara had back then. I don't think he could even teleport back then as that seems to be an eye technique exclusive to that one eye.

You do know that he didn't win against Oro, and that he was in his late sixties right? Nowhere near 150. He was just around a decade older than Jiraiya was when he fought Pain.

Itachi - Genjutsu, Amaterasu, Susanoo, super fast, can track movements.
Nagato - Hiruzen doesn't stand a chance against him
Bee - Hachibi, lightning jutsu, TBB, expert swordsman, has Samehada now.


People that I think would most likely win against the third:
Jiraiya SM - Super strong, sound genjutsu, rasengan variants, toad techniques.
Oro - He didn't actually fight against Hiruzen, he just sat back and watched his IWRs.
Kisame - Hiruzen's ninjutsu is useless against Samehada

yeah i don't think he can take "Tobi" madara (old sarutobi version at least) since theirs no prime-age fights to compare to even thought i'd like to think he would (see below on the list) couldn't give you solid proof other then word of mouth and the ninja book stats (which if in his younger days he'd probably have a perfect 5/5 across the boards making him "The perfect ninja".

Madara- depends on his S/T statues, if he didn't have his current powers and just had basic uchiha abilities and EMS, with growing up training under madara's rival he'd probably have at least thought of a plan to fight him ahead of time (just guessing)
Itachi-depends on how it went down, pure skill vs skill old hiruzen would def lose to itachi even sick, but we all know itachi is super-dedicated to the leaf so if this was like, healthy itachi vs hokage hiruzen around the uchiha massacre or just after, he'd be holding back because of hiruzen's status as hokage and sarutobi wouldn't want to kill itachi either but its possible he'd still defeat and capture him so itachi could keep his cover as a double agent.
Hashirama (maybe, we know nothing about him) i think it'd be close but either the student/teacher bond or wood release would help hashirama win, or the other way around hiruzen's fire and earth and their bond would turn the tide.
Tobirama (same as above, but he had alot of super powerful jutsu like TS, and IWR) water vs earth+fire, hard to tell since we don't know how well tobirama can use IWR or if he would ever resort to it even if it meant losing his life to sarutobi since hes the one who dubbed IWR forbidden.
Nagato-Pain would crush him, even if hiruzen could use every KG in the village+all the summons pain is all but invincible 1v1.
Naruto-yeah naruto is in a league of his own, he'd take down any kage atm.
Bee-about the same as naruto but depends on a couple things like if samehada is there,would bee resort to incomplete (black chakra) form or just use his lvl1 cloak but i'd definitely give bee the big edge at any point after mastering 8tails.

Both 3rd and 4th use lightning armor and hiruzen is a earth/fire master so depending on if that was a error or something we just haven't seen yet could change that match up, but like i said with minato no way sarutobi is as fast as A/minato.

we can't be completely sure of how strong he was back in the day without a flashback and i think he can take on bee and land a win but that is an opinion as is yours because we don't really kno how strong he was but he was really hyped up, his teachers were really strong, has a title of god of shinobi so he must have been have been really formidable back in the day

I'm not disputing that he was strong, that is why I only put up people that I thought had some sort of crazy good offense or defense that I don't think he could beat. Oro is also the only one that I'm about 50-50 on. I think it could go either way because Oro can regenerate and the only real way to kill him is to make him run out of chakra or seal him.

But for the most part you do agree that these people would win against him and I thank you for admitting that, seeing as your avatar is Hiruzen.
