Only thing is you're showing 2 different types of Genjutsus, why didn't Shikamaru bite his lips instead of breaking his finger? He obviously knew causing pain to himself would work yet he broke his finger instead. Why didn't Nagato have his 3 Pain bodies bite their lips when Jiraiya used Frog song? Why didn't Sasuke, who was matching Itachi in their genjutsu battle not bite his lips to break out? You see the flaw here? You're expecting the same results with different situations. Shikamaru had to inflict more pain to himself, his finger is shown "Stinging pain" in a few pages after the one you posted.

Plus Kabuto had Senjutsu powering up the genjutsu even more than when the example you provided. Nothing you shown shows you're right when you're using different types of genjutsus. Sakura and Sjikamaru broke out of Kabuto's genjutsu during the Chunin exam yet Naruto didn't break out of Itachi's in shippuden in save Gaara arc. Naruto did the same thing as Sakura to break out yet he didn't. See I used the same type of genjutsus to show my point how it can be different. Both were visual genjutsus.

Pain breaking both types wasn't what you were saying, the same type, Lip biting, working for both is what I disagree with. So plot made Shikamaru, 3 Peins, Sasuke and Itachi not bite their lips to break out of sound genjutsu? Seems more like Kishi is telling us lip biting isn't enough. All your argument stands on PNJ, I actually provided 3 different examples of sound genjutsu which you have no way to counter so blame plot.

Pain is pain, it breaks genjutsu, all of them if one has a chance to inflict it. When sasuke was hit by orochimaru's genjutsu he could have bitten his lip but used kunai. Im talking about tayuyas not frog genjutsu. I cant remember now but i think it works different.
Sasukes and Itachis case its obvious PNJ cuz its much cooler story to break it just like they did.

How am I grasping at straws? Sasuke was in a visual genjutsu used by a Kage level ninja while Sakura who had better chakra control than him couldn't even break. How is that the same as a different type of genjutsu? So by your logic Orochimaru could have bite his lips to break Itachi's genjutsu but instead chose to try and break it using hand seals? Still waiting how 3 Peins died if all they had to do is bite their lips, 3 Kage level ninjas didn't do it. Most of Itachis genjutsu is that a victim doesnt even know that hes trapped or kills you in secs not giving you a chance to break it.

I was talking about sound genjutsu period lol, they're different types of sound genjutsus just like their is for visual genjutsus. I never said pain wouldn't break sound genjutsu only that it more than likely requires more pain than visual genjutsu so biting of the lip wouldn't work for all genjutsus and that's including visual genjutsus too. Who would be scared to face a Sharingan user if all they had to do was bite their lip? Kurenai did it because that was her genjutsu that was used back on her and she knows it's weak points.

In Shikamaru's case, why use more chakra to make your shadow break your finger if you can save the chakra and bite your lips if it would work? He didn't have a high stamina so why use the chakra?

The only plot I saw is that if you look at Itachi and Sasuke, they were able to turn their heads to look at Kabuto and each other while Shikamaru's arms in real world resembled how it was in the genjutsu. So Itachi and Sasuke shouldn't even be able to move their heads since their movements were stopped. They escaped by plot over anything.

Pain bodies dont feel pain at all, it wont work moron.
Orochimaru displayed a great deal of resistance to 3t genjutsu vs itachi and later vs sasuke (until CM) itachi still got tsukuyomi, he should be feared and no1 else is orochimaru.
