As we all know , it has been stated by "Tobi" aka "The masked man" that Uchiha where planning to take over Konoha , and Itachi worked as a double agent between the Village top brass and with Uchiha elite members.

There where conflicts between those two parties , and Itachi was caught in the middle of it.

Knowing this Itachi had to kill of hes clansmen that a war wont break lose and bring even more casualites and could even trigger a 4'th Shinobi world war.

Witnessed death of countless people as a young child at the age of 4.

Itachi began to detest war and only think about Peace.

Here lies a double meaning for this "Massacre".


I have come to a conclusion , that Tobi may have had a Motive , too start the conflicts between Uchiha elite and Konohas top brass.

He may have influenced both of these sides in a Fashion , that even a mastermind like Itachi wont notice.

At the time Tobi was looking for a way how to "rekindle the flames of war".

"rekindle the flames of war" = start a conflict between Uchiha elites and Konohas top brass = Konohas Goverment will collapse = Other countries will take a notice in it = and a 4'th Shinobi world war will play out.

But Tobi actualy had different goals in this moment aswell.

Tobis Goals.


There where some reasons : Tobi stated , that he only sought to take revenge on Uchiha clan , for their past actions.

Tobi helped Itachi to kill off their clansmen.

There are actualy more than one reasons for doing this.

Tobi knew , that the Uchiha clan had the ability to awaken MS and EMS.


Tobi knew , that Uchiha could affect hes goals and plans with the power of MS and EMS in the future.

It was a risk , that Tobi would not take.

Itachi had failed hes mission leaving one survivor : Sasuke Uchiha.

After fleeing the city , Itachi knew that Tobi was aware of this , So Itachi sought out Akatsuki and joined it , too make sure no harm is done too hes Brother and know details about their goals.

(Itachi was probly the one who gave hints to Jiraiya ,about Nagato.)

Itachi knew , that hatred will make hes brother stronger , and he prayed , that Sasuke will kill him off when the time comes and obtain MS and later take hes eyes and get EMS.

And then go back to the village as a Hero and later defeat Tobi.

It may all come down to one purpose of this event : It was all planned out by Tobi , to further aid hes goals.


We all know , that Tobi attacked the village 16 years ago.

But here he is clearly lying to Sasuke.

He wants to keep Sasuke on hes side to aid hes goals , since Sasukes ocular powers are rare.

The truth is Tobi told Sasuke the truth , but bended some of it in a way , that Sasuke will act according to hes plans.

Also the same truth was told to Naruto / Kakashi and Yamato.

The only person currently who knows the actual truth is Itachi.

Also , we can see , that Tobi may had intrest on stocking up on the Sharingans after the massacre , since he seems to have a huge collection of them.

So as we can see there is more to question about this event W/O this event we might be missing over 50+ chapters of plot progress , that means , if we explore the reasons behind this event and get some predictive information out of it , we might accomplish something on a greater level and have a greater insight into the general or major plot progress of the manga.

That type of thing has happened to me before , Ive seen grammar failures on other peoples threads aswell + sometimes their font type or lack of size makes my eyes hurt.

But there is 180 % difference in our opinion = I dont complain.

Information is never lost.

The most important thing about a thread is how much information it contains , and how it can contripute valuable information to the reader.

however, I will add this, Tobi had more than 1 reason for helping Itachi:

1. stocking on sharingan
2. weakening Konoha (multiple reasons: possible war, easier capture of the 9-tails...)
3. making Itachi an S-rank criminal and increasing Akatsuki's reputation
4. simply because he can and is a twisted bastard
