Sarada is a product of artificial insemination conducted by Orochimaru from the sperm of Sasuke and the egg of Karin.

Somewhere along the process Sasuke takes the child and gives her to Sakura with the promise that she would take care of her even if she wasn't the biological mother.

Sakura might be infertile, and therefore has devoted her life to Sarada like a real mother.

Well to be honest she could be some sort of half clone. Orochimaru is pretty wicked, he could do something like mixing Sasuke's and Karin's DNA per hand/jutsu. He wouldn't even need their semen/egg, just a simple DNA sample and that is pretty easy to get.
