Being real; Ankara is probably one of the worst cities in Turkey. It has little to nothing to offer other than safety which is futile right now. It is the worst city i have ever been; everywhere else have something to offer regards to nature, history, sports etc. but Ankara just has politics and business. Why are you here for studying, i thought Canada has better stuff to offer.

Well, it's still a city of 5 millions of inhabitants, there would for sure be something to do,afterall. Or at least I think so, even if I don't know a lot about Turkey's quality of life

It is really sad when people just want to get away from here ASAP, even people who live here. Several years ago both visitors and locals had much more positive views about country.

I understand, since I live in a part of Italy who is following the same destiny

I do not live in Ankara.
Gov. says it is YPG (which is bs as YPG strives for public appeal) but it is either ISIS or PKK. This attack seems very mashed up, usually we can tell what type of group carried an attack based on targets/location (i can not believe we earned this ability) but this is a really odd case, esp. the type of attack is very very odd.

Forgive my ignorance, but what YPG stands for? Is that something Kurdish related too?

@deadlift appearantly the attack have been done by "teyrêbazên azadiya kurdistan" aka TAK which means something like "Kurdistan freedom hawks". They seem like a mock up terrorist group in which they claim attacks made by bigger terrorist groups which can taint image of the latter. They said smthn like "we made our attack at the heart of fascist Turkish State". Smh even these lacklusters could do this at the capital of one of the strongest militaries, they are basicly a more vile PKK.

Thanks for the info.. the one with the Kurdistan is a big problem.. But I have a question for you: I know that Kurds are spread in other countries besides Turkey, like Iran for example. Why in your opinion they're so warlike only in Turkey? I mean, still assuming that the ones who made this were really Kurds

Quality really depends on region. It is a really heterogenous country, i live in Istanbul (over 14 million inhabitants) and even my city has drastic differences in different districts. Broadly West is safer than East. Ankara is an usually dull "safe" city, South East Anatolia was having weeks long curfews when Mediterannean cities were centers of summer vacation. It is also very f-ed up.

Everybody desires to move East and North in West Asian/European part of World. It feels like people are losing faith and desire to move their countries forward and work for it.

Yes mainly in Syria. Most part of World loves them due to their fight against ISIS. You may see people sharing pictures of "Kvrdish womman fighters" in blogs and stuff, tbh i know they have links to PKK but i do not care as long as they lay off from our lands. I do not get why people romanticize a proxy war which is mostly about territory and seizing power not feminism and social justice like Western bloggers think so.

Well there is an authority gap in countries like Syria and Iraq. There is not much hate one can have mock up puppet states like these. Iran is much more strict than Turkey if you do something they don't like you are not getting away. Turkey have not tested well in regards to human rights of minorities. Also the ratio and number of Kurds in Turkey are higher in comparasion to other 3 countries. It is also a bigger challenge than seizing power in Syria and Iraq.

I think everybody should go to a referandum and decide the fate of South East Anatolia. What do we want? What do people living there want? Either they will be recognized as a legit minority and have wide reforms for rights & region's development or build and independent state & say bye. I am sick of people dying for those cursed lands and all the hostility within people. I am up for solutions it will just be a matter of who will take which land, many things other than autonomy bs works for me.

Incredible how much the description of your country looks similar to mine. Except in Italy there aren't safe cities, besides maybe the middle-big cities at the North-Central area.
Also I thought Ankara was a more lively city, since I saw in a pic it's full of skyscrapers XD

The Sardinian people who lives abroad are something about four times the ones who live in Sardinia. I kinda understand what your people feel

Ah ok ok I understood who you're talking about, and yes, in the months of the war in Kobane, Facebook and the whole internet were full of the pics of these women, who were painted as heroins who die for their country against the invaders. Now I get why Turkish government was that careful in taking the decision of help them in some way.

I've also heard that, since the four nations in which there is Kurdistan are all rivals with one another, they use to persecute their own Kurds and support the Kurds of the other nations. Is that possible?

Yes, I agree. Do you think a similar solution will ever come?
