I think that there is some correlation between TenTen and Hashirama and that TenTen will play a huge role in stopping Madara as Hashirama's relative.
As we know, TenTen uses fuinjutsu scrolls like Hashirama and masters weapons like Hashirama has been shown to at the battle at Valley of the End with Madara. Hashirama also had several scrolls of sealing, most likely given to him from his wife, Mito Uzumaki.

TenTen also has shown pretty good efficiency with the Sage tools and used them for a substantial amount of time before chakra depletion. The tools take down a lot of chakra and for a young kunoichi, TenTen used them to ward off Kakuzu's heart things before she was exhausted.
TenTen and Hashirama both have brown hair and brown eyes. I know this isn't a significant indicator of relation, especially in a manga, but this could be leading to something. In addition, I don't ever recall seeing TenTen's parents nor Hashirama's children and one of them could possibly be TenTen's parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent.
Other similar characteristics that may show TenTen is in Hashirama's family is her Chinese-bun hairstyle that only she and Mito have exhibited:
