People call Tenten and Hinata weak. They put these two so far below the other members of the Konoha 11 and treat them as if they are so much worse. They bash these two to no end. Now I have no idea how someone could really put these two below Kiba or ignore the abilities that they've shown. Here are some of the arguments that people use against these two:
1. They have 0 wins in the manga. My response: This may be true, but so do a lot of other Konoha 11 characters. Think about it:
Who has Kiba beaten? Kankuro was the one who killed Sakon and Ukon.
Who has Ino beaten? Nobody. The closest person she came to beating was part 1 Sakura, and that is not a large feat considering that part 1 Sakura had no abilities.
Lee doesn't exactly have a win streak either. He always lost to Neji. He lost to Gaara. He would have been killed by Kimimaro if it wasn't for Gaara coming to the rescue. Therefore it is not like his track record shines bright either.
As you can see, Tenten and Hinata are not the only ones who seemingly lack feats.
2. People also say that Tenten and Hinata are weak. Let's analyze their skills. Keep in mind that I will have to use some anime data since Hinata and Tenten don't get that much panel time.
Hinata: Hinata has air palm, a nice long range technique that is even used by some of the stronger hyuugas like Neji and Hiashi. She also has protection of the 8 trigrams 64 palms (which is not the same as rotation, but it serves similar purpose). In the anime, it was shown that this technique could even have an electrocution effect (see bikochu beetle arc). Might I add that this technique may very well be exclusive to Hinata (as we have only seen other Hyuugas such as Neji and Hiashi use rotation). In addition, Hinata can shoot little chakara needles in quick succession as a mid to long range technique (see bikochu arc). This can act as both a defense mechanism and an offensive jutsu (which actually covers a considerable area). Hinata also recently displayed the famous 8 trigrams 64 palms technique. We have all seen the damage that this technique can do. In fact it can actually be lethal. Hinata however took this a step further by combining this technique with twin lion fists (which is another jutsu that is seemingly unique to Hinata might I add). The twin lion fists were shown in the anime to have enough physical force to at least create craters. Combining this physical force with gentle fist techniques such as 8 trigrams 64 palms creates a jutsu that deals both internal damage to the organs and the chakara circulatory system, and immense physical damage to a person's external body. It is the best of both worlds (which a lot of Hyuugas don't have seeing as how they mainly stick to gentle fist and not a lot of physical force). The anime even went so far as to showcase Hinata having the ability to induce and insert electromagnetic currents inside of opponents (watch Hinata vs magnet element guy). As you can see, Hinata has a fair range of skills and abilities. Not to even mention the medical ninjutsu that she was shown to have in the anime.
Now people like to say that Hanabi is stronger than her. We do not know that to be currently true however. It was shown that Hanabi was stronger when they were little kids. We haven't heard any comparison of those two's skills as time progressed (nor have we seen Hanabi in action). People can surpass people. For instance, Zabuza was stronger than Naruto and Sasuke in part 1, but Naruto and Sasuke can easily wipe the floor with Zabuza now. Kakashi was stronger than Obito when they were kids, but Obito is now much much stronger than Kakashi. Therefore the argument that Hanabi is stronger can not be confirmed and is therefore invalid.
If you use the argument that Hinata got owned by Pain, let me remind you that Jiraiya, Kakashi, Utakata, and many Konoha jonin were killed by Pain. Even Naruto almost lost to Pain. Therefore it is no massive fail that she lost to Pain.
Now I am not saying that Hinata is the strongest, but she is way stronger than some of you people make her out to be.
Now lets move on to Tenten.
The anime showed Tenten to be able to use the bashosen to kill multiple of Kakazu's hearts. This is a clear testament to Tenten's large chakara reserve. Furthermore, Tenten can shoot fire dragons out of her scroll. That is basically like a katon jutsu. Tenten can also shoot barrages of explosive Kunai out at a time. This is basically similar to Konan's explosive paper, but it has lesser power and quantity. It is still pretty strong however. After all, it is basically raining explosions. Finally, Tenten's scroll can even hold and release an entire ship. Imagine having an entire ship dropped on you. That is almost as good as food cart destroyer technique. Therefore Tenten has a fair amount of skill as well.
Now that we have covered power, lets cover some other things.
3. Some people say that Hinata doesn't have a large vocabulary. Those people really overestimate the amount of times that she says "Naruto Kun". You people do realize that it is really no different from how Sakura, Ino and Karin are always going Sasuke Kun (drop the Kun in Karin's case). The only difference is the fact that Sasuke left the village and therefore wasn't around as much for Sakura and Ino to constantly say Sasuke Kun. All throughout part 1, it was Sasuke Kun this and Sasuke Kun that. Even during the war, Sakura went back to her old Sasuke Kun. Yet nobody ridicules Sakura and Ino about this. Therefore, it is incorrect to single out Hinata in this aspect. Furthermore, Hinata is generally only ever shown when Naruto is around. As a result, we seemingly only get the phrase Naruto Kun from her. This does not prove however that she is inarticulate in any other situation. She was just shy around Naruto (which as I just said, happened to be mostly the only times she is shown). If you want a true demonstration of Hinata's articulation, go back to the elegant speeches she gave after Neji's death or during the fight with Pain.
4. Some people say that Tenten is fodder because she doesn't get a lot of panel time. My response: Kaguya got no panel time or even mention for over 600 chapters, yet she is the strongest entity that the Naruto world has known to date. A lack of panel time does not equate to a lack of strength.
