-Complete a quest to get material
-Defeat the cave spiders
-Find the secret scroll
As Irelia walked through the town and made her way up to the Cathedral she was surprised to see only few samurai in the town, considering this was meant to be a heavy Samurai homeland. The closer she got to the Library the more inspiring view it became, a massive structure themed of that of a church but with more of a warriors poet vibe. That being statues of Samurai commanders, warrior hero's and other important samurai figures. Approaching the gate, Irelia was stopped by two guards at the entrance who explained that the library itself was closely guarded and only special permissions were required to get inside. They helped Irelia towards the local captain who further explained that with all the recent events, especially the undead, the shining beacon of light to the west and an uneasy feeling across the world, it was harder to get permisisons.
Irelia explained that ideally, she only wanted to use the library to learn of where to find the best ores for forging weapons and materials, to her surprise the guard captain smiled. He himself had read a lot of books during his stationing here in Tenjin's and even had read a lot of books on the very subject, to which he explained that the Samurai have been farming and buying a lot of the most expensive and strongest ores in order to prepare for a fight that was coming and ready to be ordered to move out to defend across the world. Irelia thanks the captain and wondered how she might be able to obtain some of these ores for a weapon she was hoping to make. The Samurai captain gave her a curious look, she didnt quite have the build nor the look of a smith, but figured that he probably meant to get someone to smith it for her. He recently had some extra ore he was planning on making into some weapons for a town in the Land Of Lightning, but he might be able to part with it should she perform a task for the Captain.
I can certainly try, what was the task?
Well there is a cavern not too far from here, thats been infested with spiders recently that seem to have an abnormal size and venom. I sent two samurai to dispatch them but they never came back, and I worry that any extra I send might face the same fate. I have very little men to spare here as the garrison itself is stretched thin after all the events. if you can go into the cavern, clear it out and retrieve the scroll my men were carrying, I would happily part with some of the Samurai ore for a reward.
Irelia was a bit cautious, some strange spiders in a cavern didnt sound too difficult for her so hopefully this task may be completed quickly for her to get some ores. After taking a map with some directions from the captain, Irelia set out towards the south of the town, and after an hours walk, she found the little divert that he captain mentioned and the mouth of the cave. There definitely were telltale signs of spider infestation, spiders silk and webs around the mouth of the cave, bones around the ground and a few large webbed up victims in the web itself as well. Although something seemed off, the webs themselves weren't the standard white but almost tinged with purple....
Walking closer with caution, Irelia kept her senses hightened for any ambush, and activating her Byakugan she focused on the large wrapped victimed around the edge of the mouth.
(Dōjutsu: Byakugan) Eye Technique: The All Seeing White Eye
It looked like some kind of deer perhaps even a buck, a four legged creature in the first one with antlers while looking towards the second one she could barely tell what it was, nothing more than a mess of bones and muscle that had call been messed up together. However there was something odd with this body was well, almost as if it wasn't actually there. Irelia found it oddly unsettling to look at, and not for the reason of being a corpse in a spiders web, as if there was something otherworldly that didnt fit. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she peered into the cavern to see how deep it ran and how many spiders could be hiding. She counted only two, but she almost stepped back considering how big they were. The size of horses almost, unnaturally large. Careful not to step on any specific webs, she silently sneaked forwards keeping her eyes flickering between the two spiders while scanning the cave walls for the samurai bodies. It didnt take long but there, on the back corner were two samurai uniforms, partially melted with their weapons below them on the floor. The crest on their armour was an obvious give away. Readying herself, Irelia took a short breath before mentally preparing herself as well, fighting these unnatural creatures that seemed to be making this cavern their home. This would need to be a precision attack and Irelia wouldnt be able to torch the whole cave despite how badly she wanted to just ignite the whole thing.
Stepping forward and drawing her blade, she crept and began to channel chakra along he blade, breathing slowly as forming along her blade to coat it in wind chakra. Just as she finished, something caught Irelias foot causing her to stumble, kicking a few loose rocks forwards followed by a shriek from the spiders. Looking down and cursing herself for only focusing on the spiders, she had tripped on a particularly thick piece of silk web that was from one side of the wall to the other.
(Fūton: Shinkūjin) - Wind Release: Vacuum Blade
The twin spiders came rushing towards her clicking their pincers and ducking low and shifting her weight, Irelia danced underneath the first attack shoving the blade infused with wind cutting two of its legs off, Navori Step. The first Spider back off a few meters before the second came in to try its turn to snack on Irelia, however with her Byakugan she could see it coming in and using her momentum, she continued her rotation to crease several slicing attacks at her opponent, Fae'lor Waltz 2.
(Kumo-Ryū Mikazuki Kiri) - Cloud-Style Crescent Moon Beheading
They shrieked in pain as the blade cut several limbs of each spider, Irelias graceful dancing in confined spaces allowing her to use superior agility to avoid their attacks and counter. She needed to land a final blow and end it before they could enrage and potentially catch her off guard, as a wounded beast can be more dangerous than not. Focusing chakra along her blade, Irelia would then dance through swinging her blade while several other chakra blades floating around her sword would follow suit, severing tendon and muscle in the spiders legs before she slide the sword behind the spiders necks, completely killing them.
(Junrei no Michi) - Pilgrims Road
Throwing the blood off her sword Irelia then let it hang loose but still firm in her grip incase there had been anything she missed, looking around her the Byakugan within the cavern. Outside of some normal hand sized spiders, there was no threat and Irelia could retrieve the scroll from the Samurai's body. Quickly looking between the two, she found it tucked in a pocket and with a quick slice of her blade cut the body loose from its web confines. A sickening stench with slime oozed out of the web sack onto the floor and the body slid with it, Irelia wincing at the smell and sight of the disfigured and broken down corpse. She didnt want to reach into the goop to pull out the scroll, and so using her sword she poked and prodded at the pocked till she managed to extract the tightly wrapped parchment and upon closer inspection the samurai seal stamped along its edge. Taking a blank scroll, she then sealed the Samurai scroll into it, before leaving the cavern. She was happy that the task itself wasn't too bad, even if disgusting and hated every minute of it, but at least it would mean that she would have some ore from the captain and be one step closer to taking it to Marzan.
The walk back took a little longer than before, as it was noon when she left and now becoming dusk by the time she got back to the village. Irelia had tried to clean off most of the webs that stuck to her clothing in the cave but there was still dirt and muck stained and stuck her her outfit which was clearly noticed by the guards as she walked through the gate. Their looks did not go unnoticed.
With a heavy sigh, Irelia focused her mind on the reward, the ore she needed and keeping her mouth shut she keep walking up the path to the captains quarters. Knocking on the door a younger guard answered asking what business Irelia had, and as Irelia replied, she pulled out the scroll from her own bag and unsealed it, revealing the Samurai Scroll she had been taked with retrieving. The young guard nodded thanking her and politely asked her to wait outside as he not too discretely looked up and down at her dirty messy outfit to which Irelia could only roll her eyes and agree. Truth be told if anyone else looked like this she would also too ask them to wait outside. A moment later the captain returned, his short bearded face with a smile as he opened the door and walked outside to greet her.
Explaining that the scroll itself was ordered given to the men to be delivered to the next town over, she had also taken on the freelance job for a bit of extra cash. This wasn't uncommon for soldier to do a bit of extra work, but they shouldn't have taken two jobs on at once. The captain had a mixture of sadness and frustration in his voice which turned to exhaustion as he took the scroll. Reaching into his back pocked, he pulled out a small bag which clinked as he threw it to Irelia, while she opened and looked inside. The ore was a dark brown, almost black but definitely had a sheen to it, and the captain explained that it might be enough for a dagger, but probably not enough for anything more as he apologized saying he thought he had more. Turns out that there had been some shortage during the week and the reserve had been dug into to keep weapons sharp.
Irelia was grateful to have this much, meaning she was a little bit closer to her goal, and tucking it away into her bag, she thanked the captain and left.

(Dōjutsu: Byakugan) Eye Technique: The All Seeing White Eye
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15 (+5 per turn to keep active)
Damage: N/A
Description: The kekkei genkai intrinsic to both the Hyūga and Ōtsutsuki clans—descendants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Those who possess this dōjutsu have it manifested as eyes with featureless white irides and no visible pupils. And when activated, the pupils become more distinct and the veins near their temples bulge. To activate the dōjutsu, Hyuga but not Ōtsutsuki clan members are initially obliged to use a rather long and specific sequence of handseals: Horse → Tiger → Boar → Hare → Rat → Dog → Horse → Dog → Hare → Rat → Boar → Snake. But once activated, the dōjutsu user is endowed with a range of skills.
To start, an activated Byakugan gives the user a near 360º diameter field of vision bar one blind spot at the back of the neck, above the first thoracic vertebra. Its vision can penetrate through any solid objects or obstructions, and likewise remains unaffected by blinding interferences. But that being said, certain barriers and the like may distort its perception. In addition, it is able to follow high-speed movements, which enables those with this dōjutsu to analyze their foes' actions and better react to them. The Byakugan is also able to see chakra to a higher degree than the Sharingan and ergo, identify where a person's chakra signature originates from. Beyond that, it can discern certain types of clones from the real person. And its ability to see chakra is in fact so acute that those who possess this dōjutsu are even able to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that comprise it. The Hyūga clan has gone so far as to develop their unique Gentle Fist style in order to capitalize on this particular ability.
Note: Hyuga clan bios of at least Jonin rank become able to passively activate their dōjutsu upon one month having passed since Gentle Fist training concluded. Ōtsutsuki bios never need to expend a move in order to activate it.
Note: While traversing the NW, bios with activated Byakugan are able to see up to two 2 adjacent landmarks away while those of sage rank can see as far as three away, but this doesn't extend beyond an ocean landmark.
