I was looking forward to seeing that encounter and hence I actually watched the entire arc for it but what went on between them wasn't shown except for Temari bursting through the Hokage office. It was left open to interpretation which is probably better that way.

No it didn't. They actually switched up some of the events. For example, Temari never fights Sai in the anime. Though for some reason, Temari has the tendency to hit Shikamaru which sucks as that tendency is something she must have learned from Sakura. At least she's way more badass than her.

Leave it to SP to remove all the interesting parts of the novel. It was supposed to be a big buildup for ShikaTema, and considering it's one of the final anime stories before the series heads to Boruto -- They failed once again.

Not surprised though. All the novel adaptions have been mediocre compared to the actual novels which were so-so.

LOL they don't understand any of the characters. The first episode of Sasuke's Shin-den had Naruto ask Kurama for help to make a few shadow clones, and then form one rasengan to do something illogical. It was like watching a Naruto cliche happen in person.

That also goes for the other characters

Itachi, Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Konoha Novels are the only novel's thus far which have been animated. Konoha's Novel is the final one before the Boruto series starts.

Yeah she probably got the support of Chouji and Ino who also wanted to know what is up with Shikamaru. Though Temari is the assertive type who can easily win in an argument against a passive person like Kakashi.
