Deep connections with people.

I feel like most relationships I have with people are shallow, it bothers me but at the same time I'd rather be polite than ignore everyone because we don't really have that strong or real of a connection in my eyes, or even potential for it to build. People generally like me and try to know me better but if I don't see the connection it's like a barrier comes up and the relationship never evolves past that point.

Which I don't know if that's fair to the person to keep talking to them or if it's fair to just ignore them suddenly? I like talking to people because they like me mostly, but at the same time it feels fake because I know the connection isn't deep.
