im actually about leave Ireland in a few hours, so my reply may be super late. but i will try and reply ASAP if you do :nefer:
i like your flow, it was on point. also the backing vocals and the keys created nice harmonics against the droning synth layers in the back. your singing was off a lot though, at first it was going for like a Fetty wap type vocal line but his vocals are also drenched in reverb and echo. yours werent as heavily effected and it sounds flat of the pitch a lot, its even more noticeable when its paired with the on pitch backings. especially against the dream pop and ambient like atmosphere youre creating behind the flows(whether you were going for that or not). if your vocals were more effected like a lot of the newer gen rappers the off singing wouldnt be as noticeable layered against the synth textures, but then it would show more where youre pulling from stylistically
but yeah your flow is good and sonically i like a lot of the choices you make in the structures, some of the shout outs and lyric rips of other artists made it feel like filler lyrically, but you can do whatever the hell you want
other than working on the singing id say focus your style more. youre all over the place and it would be hard for you to fit in to a genre or scene, its also not avante-garde enough or adding anything new to birth a new wave of hip hop or Alternative hip hop. Hip-hop pulls from very rhythm based genres like Funk, Disco, Electronic, Dub, Reggae, Dance Hall Music, Rock. fans of that genre like strong rhythms under the words, even alt hip-hop still does this but with a more jazz fusion and psych influences
the amount of people that become fans of your music. all depends on the amount of people that like your ear for music, that's it. a part of fitting in a genre is appealing to what is already established as things fans like about it. the next part i wont tell, but you can probably guess xD
