Kaido analysis thread got me thinking, don't these two do about the same thing? Is there a reason one would prefer to use 1 over the other, aside from the obvious logia touching? Is that the only difference?

Tekkai seems to have it's own special ability as well, given that it can absorb and return attacks.

What makes you say that though? I'm pretty sure that both body and spirit have the same bottomless potential
I guess, but haki also helps protect against DF , for example the ope ope no mi can't cut someone with stronger haki(same concept with a logia using haki to negate others haki)
Also, one can imbue haki into their attacks, like the amazonians imbuing it into their arrows

Incorrect. Tekkai has an upper limit-- it's as hard as iron
Any attack that could break iron could break it
But haki hasn't been shown to have an upper limit like Tekkai , at least not that I know of

Given his muscular body I'd assume his Tekkai would be insane if he's capable of it. I'd like to see top tier Haki+top tier Tekkai tbh, must be unstoppable. Haki in general seems to have far more potential. Haki is based on spiritual/will power though, Tekkai is based on physical power. So if he has a Tekkai it is likely to be far stronger then his CoA.

Edit: Iron was an analogy. It can reach to greater amounts depending on the user.

Apart from Jabura for some reason, you can't move when you use tekkai.

First you say 'I guess' then 'incorrect' Lol

Scans where this was stated? Vaguely remember it, but iirc the person was saying that's only as hard as theirs is.

I don't know if that's true or maybe I'm misunderstanding. Luffy's spirit will outlast his body no question about it, even when Luffy can't move his body an inch his spirit will still urge him to do so.
This may not be the best answer, but it's what I can think of.

Most morally good characters tend to have stronger spirits which makes them deliver that final blow even when they should technically be defeated, and I find that most 'bad' characters have stronger bodies... this at least holds true for most standard villains but then you have ones like Akainu who has both spirit and body.

You never really see good characters fighting with just the pride of their body, their spirit is usually their biggest asset. But it's not like Luffy can use Tekkai anyway. I think he's another special case who has both spirit and body.
