i fail to undestand this process of evil fruit awakening...

can somebody explain me more plz...or at least corect me if my undestanding is that awakening means : one can have evil fruit powers without eating it...

or how did this beast jailers become animalz?????..

Awakening is when the hidden powers of a fruit reveals itself. Only proficient devil fruit users can become awakened, and not much is known besides some users transforming their environment into what they create and Zoan DFs having stronger recovery. You can't awaken if you don't have a fruit.

Powers that the fruit user can't use and/or don't know they have. Like Luffy. Luffy knows he's stretchy and is like Rubber, but doesn't know all of his fruit's powers because he hasn't awakened. His awakening would have an extra power that we and he don't know.

I bet there's more to Zoan awakening than just the stat boost. I think Choppers unlocked the real secret of a Zoan awakening and being able to access other forms besides the main 3 everyone knows about. Marco was also kind of doing this when he was only transforming parts of his body at a time, that's not the same as his hybrid mode it's more akin to how Chopper changes one feature like guard point or arm point.
