Five weeks ago my boyfriend was diagnosed with severe depression after trying to kill himself, so thank you for sharing this. It's a very powerful video.

I have never listened to much Shinedown, i might have a listen now.
Pierce the Veil have a song called 'Bulls in the Bronx' and that song is about Olivia Penpraze. Powerful songs.

Thanks He started taking antidepressants and has noticed that the pills are starting to work.

Instead of killing yourself just be the best antisocial and non-caring person you could ever be.
At least you will stil be alive to do the things you want to do and not caring about what people think or expect you to do.
Try to solve your problem, but if you cant try to ignore it and give it a middle finger.

I get what you are trying to say, but it's not as easy as that.
Preventing the problem will always be the better option, instead of telling people what to do once the have already been pushed to the edge.

But you can't prevent your problems, they will always come at you, so you can't prevent it. The best way to avoid suicide is teach people how to deal with their problems and make them realize that their problems is not the biggest problem in the world. They are not the only one suffering, the world is just rotten to the core sometime. People who are still alive today are just able to deal or overcome their problems.

You can sometimes. Such as bullying and such. I know there are some pretty pathetic people out there, and bullying will always be a big problem, but we can work to reduce it, through videos such as this and other campaigns.

I have to agree with the original poster. It's not easy. People can't take advantage of insecurities you don't have, but we can't all turn off our feelings. I used to have people come up to me and flip my wrists over and ask where my scars were, because they "heard I was emo" I would love to say it didn't bother me because I knew it wasn't true, but it actually got to me. At the time I was depressed and more than a little suicidal due to family troubles, including deaths and my mother's being diagnosed with lung cancer. The solution isn't just to be a "happy loner." The solution is to stop bullying others and to stop making others feel excluded. If we could all just be more aware teen suicide wouldn't be such a problem. And it's more than a problem with just teens, the youngest suicide in the state of Florida was committed by a four year old. We live in a sad world.

You don't understand that a teenager's mind works differently from an adult. Is you study developmental psych, adolescents are victims to a cognitive state that makes them create 'personal fables'. As in, they truly believe their situation is the worst in the world and that no one can relate or understand what they're going through. This is why teen suicide and depression is a tricky thing to prevent. It is very common. So experts work on preventing the problems before they start (such as bullying) by raising awareness.
