Team Konohamaru Was Outstrategized and Needed Boruto To Cheat

People put the blame on Boruto for cheating and that is somewhat true but they lose if he does not and the whole teams strategy is to blame. The triplet team was not as strong but their strategy to abandon the flag and use genjutsu to slow the other team from getting it and attacking the other teams flag with everyone as quickly as possible should have worked. Since team Konohamru decided to leave only Boruto back to defend the flag it was 3 vs 1 and with Sarada and Mitsuki being so slow and cautious approaching the other flag the triplet team got to Boruto first. If Boruto had not cheated he would have simply been overwhelmed by their numbers and wouldn't have really been defeated just held off long enough to get the flag. In summary even though team Konohamaru was far stronger 3 on 3 they had a dumb team strategy that nearly cost them and in reality they should thank Boruto for cheating or they would be going home with Denki and Sumire's teams.

Maybe or maybe not but all they needed was for one person to briefly sneek by and steal the flag andbit is over. Also I did not see Sasuke defeat a 3 man team by himself in the chuniin exams.

Just watched the episode and it was really just overall abysmal planning.... in hindsight. Not sure they could have predicted the opposing team would go gung-ho for their flag while leaving their's entirely defenseless.

You are right, we also need to add that Boruto was frustrated. We know he can beat them together but with the nerves to make his father proud and not let down his friends he forgot his own power and cheated.
