I would like to discuss about tattoos with you all.
I understand some of you may not have any tattoos (yet?) but to those who do, and yes it also applies to those who don't have any ... Do you consider having tattoos a sin and something of tarnish? Or do you think of them as of art and something with meaning? Do you consider them not a sin?
I remember when I was in my early teens I said I would never contaminate my body with tattoos, although that later changed when I joined the USMC. I'd say less than 1/4 of the reason I got tattoos were because of everyone else having one, I wanted to be the same, but majority was because I found things in life that I wanted to continue to remember. Having a tattoo that reminded me of something had meaning to me, in a way it was also art. I didn't think of it being a reckoning, a sin.
Now, I don't want to be covered (mind you we have tattoo policies in the USMC) but regardless I enjoy them. I still have tattoos I want to get, a couple more.
My mother told me that having tattoos you are sought out after a lot more, now that may sound good, but really how she implied it was that it looks demeaning and that say legal matters are attracted to you, aka police, it looks bad and unprofessional. I get that. I will never get forearm, neck, face tattoos. I also made it clear to myself I will never get tattoos below the chest and downward (besides my ribcage, which I have some words written there).
Literally and to be quite frank, what are your opinions on tattoos NB? I would love to discuss your thoughts!
