Chapter 5: Let it Commence
Yuski, Shikaru, and I left the academy and began towards the training field. On the way, we ran into Kamui's team.
"Hey..." She said, dolefully.
"Hey. Are you... Sad, or something?" I asked.
"No, no. I just thought that I would get the new sensei. Plus, I'll never get to see you as much as I do"
"What?" I said, confused. She sighed.
"Like I said before, I won't see you a lot anymore because of missions and such? Soraya... Do you even care?"
"Of course I do"
"Well, you have a REAL funny way of showing it" she walked off with her team towards the ramen shop.
"What's her problem?" Yaski asked. Shikaru shrugged and said,
"Probably she started her menstrual cycle for the month"
I turned around towards them in a flash, fueled with anger from what they were discussing, "Shut up, she's just... Tired. Let's go" I stormed off.
Once we reached the gate of the training field, Yaski stopped us both. He grabbed our shoulders and began,
"Guys, we might have to fight. So I think it's best you figure out what will be a best strategy"
"Wait" Shikaru began, "What the heck? Aren't you like twelve? What kind of strategy would we come up with?" he asked sarcastically while brushing his hand off his shoulder.
"I'm twelve in a half, and I don't know. Aren't you a Nara? You people are smart, think of something!" Yaski responded.
"Yes, I am a Nara. But, I refuse to 'waste my intelligence'"
Yaski let go of my shoulder with a pained expression, and we continued into the field where we met him.
He had really dark hair that reminded me of obsidian. His complex was brownish and he seemed somewhat nonathletic. But, there was a lady standing next to him. We walked up to him while he stared each of us down. All of a sudden, he stretched his arms as if he were reaching the sky, pulled them down and began his introduction.
"OK, Team!" He shouted, the lady next to him cringed from his loud voice.
Oh boy, a loud mouth sensei. Just my luck...
"I'm sensei Tora, and this is Hikari. You will address is my baby-" He began, but was interrupted by Hikari's knee. Before he finished, she kneed his gut.
"Your... Baby? No." Hikari said.
Woah...
"Okay, while Tora remains incapacitated for a while" We all looked over to him to see blood running from his mouth and the sound of his groaning, "I'm Hikari, but you'll call me Sensei Hikaru so let me get the list to check if everyone is here"
Then, Tora got up.
"No, that's my job. I have the list" He said, hurrying into his pocket. After taking out the list, he walked up to Yaski.
"Hm... Yaski Hyuga, correct?" He asked.
"Yes, sensei Tora" Yaski replied.
"Great, we have a sensory type" Next, he walked over to Shikaru.
"Shikaru Naru, most likely" he said.
"Of course" Shikaru said with a gleaming smile.
Finally, Tora looked down at my name with wide eyes, then showed it to Hikari.
"I haven't seen one of those in a while" She responded to the note.
Tora walked back up to me.
"And you must be Soraya Jonai"
I nodded.
"Oh, a shy one, typical. Anyways, I'll be looking to you a lot, Ms. Jonai" Tora said strictly while patting my back.
I noticed his change in tone meaning that he knows something that I don't. Aw well, It's not really my business.
"Okay, that was great. Now, the training will begin" He began while reaching into his chest pockets for something. Soon, he pulled out 3 bells.
"I wanted to do it just like Kakashi, but I thought 3 would teach you all about strength. Here are the rules: number one, you cannot steal a bell from your other teammates. number two, you will not know which one of us hold which bells-" He was interrupted by my hand.
"Wait, you said, 'Us'. Are we fighting the both of you?"
"Of course!" He replied.
"But she's not our sensei" Yaski added.
"Actually, I am. I'm the Co-Sensei" Hikari admitted.
"Great, that's a first" Shikaru said.
Tora cleared his throat to draw the attention back on him.
"Okay, like I was saying. Rule 3! It is your choice to help your other teammates" He said while grinning. "Once you get your bell, you can sit down by the logs"
We all looked towards each other. I didn't know if that meant they'd help me, or if they were full of self reliance.
"Anymore questions?" Hikari asked.
He shook our heads to signify that there were no more.
"Alright!" Tora shouted while placing him self in a forward position.
"Let the bell test commence!" After his final words, Hikari and Tora jumped into the dense trees until they seemed invisible.
