what happened to tailed beasts needing jinchuriki in order to think? i thought that otherwise; supposedly, they were mindless killing machines. i remember that being stated somewhere. so if some one can help me out here, id be much appreciative.

Wut ? They just dont have the intelligence to use their power properly .That is why They need a jinchuuriki . Something like you said was never mentioned in the manga .

Yeah, it's like it's a good thing madara has rinnegan and hash's wood jutsus; since he is going up against the entire Narutoverse. they might as well just bring every person in to take him out; ninja or not. you know make a sweep.

Yeah I have to agree that it's only a suspicion on the ninjas part that they are mindless. They where placed in ninjas so that they could be controlled. Other wise it would be like hay three tails kill that ninja and the three tails would be like no.

I think it was thought that they were mindless killing machines because every time humans encountered them, they, well uhh, mindlessly killed. That was proven wrong once Naruto befriended the Bijuus. Just my opinion, I don't have proof.
