Since the chemical bombings that killed 1300+ civilians in Syria, the US and The UK have been having serious talks about, for the moment, aiding the rebels in air strikes. However there is obvious hesitancy in getting into another foreign war. Foot soldiers are not being heavily considered at the moment but may in the near future.

Thoughts?

P.S. I'm on my phone so I can't post any links at the moment.

The U.S. is obviously going to do something about it, it's what this country does. Not so sure about the U.K. however.

I think it's time that we let the world solve its own problems. We aren't the world police, so we should quit acting like it.

To an extent I agree, but I think we almost should evacuate innocents at least. The people are uninvolved don't care who is coming to save them. They just want the pain to stop.

I agree, for the most part. The U.S. should solve its own problems before every other country's. But, at this point, America's kind of down the toilet. lol

Some say in school textbooks that the USA used to be....Isolationist, where they wouldn't butt in until it affected them personally O_O

The two votes that are going to full-scale war kinda scare me. Do you guys WANT the defense fund kept where it is (currently funding more than the top 5 other nations combined) and not let other programs, say, Education and Space, get any of it?

George Washington advised that we don't get involved. It's harder with the Internet, you can just see the suffering.

I'm looking a little in the future with this one. We didn't enter the two world wars until we were messed with, and this wasn't that long ago! Clearly Congress doesn't have their best interests at heart, unless that involves burning third world miscreants with atomic age tech.

I'm trying to as well. I believe what the difference between the world wars and now it isn't world powers fighting each other, it's more like bullies picking on people smaller than them.

However, maybe that's the only to do it, allow these nations to fix their own problems.

Russia just warned the west not to make any stupid mistakes in Syria, the Zionist west won't invade Syria unless they want a full on confrontation with Russia but I don't think they want to mess with a superpower that has over a thousand nuclear war heads. Syria is "protected" as long as Russia is on their side.

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me if the western inperialists are the mastermind behind this. Usa an UK being involved is obviously just the next step in their emperialistic campaign. Their approach is almost the same as in Afghanistan, Irak, Iran and Libiya.

I think we need to stay out of everything. only help our allies if they really need it. we need to worry about our country. no offense but screw every other country until we fix our own mess.

Their country their problem. The best we could do is send people over there to teach them about our constitution.... Alright we couldn't do that as no one knows it anymore. We are best off going to McDonalds and buying a cheeseburger while ignoring their country.

lol at America acting like they honestly give a shit about others when they ****ed up Iraq not too long ago. America has ulterior motives probably for getting involved. an imperialist nation like America theoretically speaking is easy to conceive of using a pretext to further their ulterior motives. That's what I call insidious. America used the pretext of freeing the Iraqis to invade Iraq. Superficially that's what it seemed like. But there is substantial documentaries, leaked information and testimonies of blatant abuse, torture, carnage, genocide and other deplorable actions being committed in Iraq. My theory is America will use getting rid of Bashar as a pretext to invade Syria and try to "establish democracy".

Assad is winning the war. He would have no reason to use chemical weapons right now. Most likely rebels detonated the weapons with hopes of gaining support from the west.

I too find it sketchy that Assad would choose to use chemical weapons now. However, US intelligence reporting they are "certain" is somewhat rare, and they are probably more in the know than many think.

So going off the assumption Assad DID use those weapons, the US needs to carry out long-distance cruise missile strikes and airstrikes. 1.) We would not incur any casualties to our military, and 2.) We would significantly weaken Assad. I know the sentiment here in the US to stay out and focus on our economy, I get that. But we are talking about life and death here. We're all part of a greater human community, forget borders - they are insubstantial. I am willing to endure a tax hike for defense spending, maybe a rougher time paying for my college, to help fund an ending to a horrific genocide in the land of my ancestors (I'm 50% Syrian by descent). Why do people rant and rave about the economy but ignore the basic right we should all have - that to life? People are too numb to the reality of death, especially when humans are KILLING OFF other humans! We do we accept that as a reality? To do so is to subject ourselves to tragedy we can significantly limit or avoid! C'mon people U_U

One thing I don't understand. Why do they make the existance of chemical weapons a huge issue when there are weapons like nukes that are far more deadly and destructive than them. :| Seriously, people should be worried about Nukes. There are warmongering countries that have over 100 nuclear weapons. Talk about crazy, incompetent and irrational. They are endangering the ****ing world. :shy: I swear nuclear weapons are the worst things to ever exist. One nuclear bomb in our current time is sufficent to cause severe environmental catastrophes. But a number of these atrocities are likely to completely end all form of life and basically the whole World would be like Hell. U_U

If they are rebels why do we need to help for ?? Oooo I know because the rebels are the Muslim brotherhood( aka alqueda )

I seriously hope that we don't do a damn thing ... Chemical weapons pretty much let me know that the US ( private bankers that control the US) want to invade Syria point blank period and if it means that they have to kill 1,300 people with gas than so be it they had no problem seeing people jump 110 stories from the world trade so why would this bother them.

Because they already used the excuse of weapons of mass destruction too many times ... And what did they come up with ... Absolutely nothing ... It's like the boys that cry wolf... So they had to change the reason .... Lets just use a deadly gas to kill 1300 people , which is real because we will give the rebels this gas to use and the people will say ooo look at what they are doing we need to go in and help them ( which is code word for let's set up our own system here and move on to the next which will most likely be Egypt )

This is all done not by the illuminati or whatever but private bankers and central bankers and every single corp owned by them ...greed can only go so far until you destroy the planet.
