Society wont always bend down to be what one person wants. Sure..big fake boobs that..look like wales floating, isn't attractive but meh, just ignore them if you don't like them..we shouldn't be hating a group of people. It's such a bad habit we have as humans. No one is asking anyone who doesn't like it to date them and it doesn't harm you or anyone so let them transform themselves into whatever they want.

I agree with the above. It's their choice and I don't look down on them for it, but if they soley do it to impress a guy/girl, than I do. Also, I myself would only use it if I was like scarred or something. On the topic about the family link deal, that's pretty whack. A kid and teen before 18 shouldn't have to do it. Only after 18 and it be their choice.

Really? I belong to the Western society :| just because you dislike some people who do things, it doesn't mean we all do. That's just one family, it's not a disease so how would the whole world turn out that way? not everyone's that stupid to want to become plastic all over you know. Well, I think he said wetern society for the values that holds and defends as a whole, wich are reflected in every stage of society.
For instance: the economical system-it's based on the idea that ya can earn whatever the mediums as long it is not illegal(or at least it says so). So whatever ya do, if it earns money then everything else doesn't matter. So who cares if your business implies that you're destroying the envoriment...
That extends to the point that competition is so hard that ya have to use any possible resourse to be >>better<<. And of course, your look counts.

Yeah i think you've hit the nail on the head. I mean personally i dont mind what they do, boobs are always nice, but frankly if everyone thought they needed to get implants to be attractive than there wouldn't be any diversity. I think all men can agree that we dont all agree on what we find attractive, its just the way it is.

Hey! Don't get me wrong, I don't hate western society. I don't think is bad or good. I think it has its adventages and faults just as everything else.
I mentioned enviroment, cuase during USA's territorial expansion, what was considered a wild landscape was rapidly transformed into human towns.
The media does that, it's kinda obvious. When you watch a scent commercial, for instance, all symbols of any kind of success are put togheter (cars, expensive clothes and >>attracctive<< ppl). Nothing is random in advertisement. It's a messege carefullly thought and developmented. Advertisiment reflex better than anything what most of ppl thinks, cause commercials are adressed for em.

Why are you talking bout levels? No country is better than other. Economics is one thing, now I see you mention poverty. But that does not make a country's culture worse than other. Are cultures are supposse to be equally valuable. Of course media is controlled, but is always supported by a great group of population. It's the law of offer and demand.

Obviamente nunca has leído la constitución mexicana, así como yo admito no saber demasiado de leyes estadounidenses. Pero nuestra constitución plantea muchas cosas acerca de la igualdad y la explotación ventajosa de los recursos naturales. I don't find this attractive at all, but it's not my choice what people do with their bodies.
I tolerate any form of body modification that's not self-mutilation, and I don't see why we shouldn't tolerate plastic surgery.
I would however say that examples like the ones in the Daily Mail article do show us how modification can become mutilation...seriously, breasts that large are not healthy for your body at all. Sacrificing your health to this extent just for the sake of your looks is what I'd call self-mutilation.
