"After his fight with madara, naruto is left in a critical state. His comrades from konoha and Tsunade, preoccupied with his survival, remember that naruto was always the symbol of hope even when he wasn't around.
Back in the past, 2 years after sasuke left the village and while naruto is still on his training mission with jiraiya, konohagakure and sunagakure are in talks for a co-organization of the first chuunin exams since orochimaru's attack on the village.
As his first mission as a kazekage, gaara suggests that the exams should be held in his village. In the meantime, in the middle of the concerns regarding the akatsuki, a man is plotting in the shadows and seems to have a grudge against gaara.
In the big whirlwind of expectations and ambitions of each respective ninja village, will the chuunin exams unfold as intented?"

Link also states that the first episode of the arc will air on january the 9th (january the 8th for us guys online since this comes from a simulcast channel in france and all episodes come out a day after their release in japan).
