Now its been established that Naruto and Sasuke are essentially Yin and Yang. I don't know if anyone else noticed but Naruto and Sasuke's Jutsu's and fighting styles both have a great deal of symbolism and are opposite's as well. Even there very appearences are opposites.
Naruto:
Spirals
A lot of Naruto stems from spirals, his Jutsu the Rasengan and his last name. His mother stems from the land of Whirlpools another spiral refrence.
Nature and life
Naruto's abilities and Modes all have some symbolism with life and nature. Sage Mode for instance uses Natural Chakra, while 9 tailed chakra mode causes plants to grow when he is near wood. This has a correlation with Hashirama Senju who used Wood Release. Tree's have often been the symbol of life and rebirth.
There is also the Uzumaki Blood line which grants Naruto a powerful life force. Another life reference.
Light
During Konan's fight with Obito, she refers to Naruto as light. This actually sort of makes me think once again of his 9 tail Chakra mode where he glows with a golden light.
When Karin is near him she notes that his Chakra is bright and warm.
Clothes
Naruto has a habit of wearing bright colored clothes.
Protection
Naruto's theme has been about protecting his friends. Haku told him that you only know what real strength is when you have something to protect. Naruto took that to heart and adopted it. (The Will of Fire).
Sasuke:
Sasuke's abilities have always been about death and destruction which is very much like Madara.
Fire
The Uchiha clan is often associated with fire and have a natural affinity for it. Fire is often a symbol of destruction sense it burns forests to the ground.
One of the MS abilities in fact is Black fire (Amaterasu). Another destruction reference.
Susanoo
Sasuke's Susanoo is much more demonic looking then one used by Itachi. It is darker colored and has horns which are often associated with demons.
Madara actually refers to Perfect Susanoo (which Sasuke may or may not get) as destruction incarneted.
Weapon
Sasuke uses a sword which shows a much more willingness to kill.
Sharingan, gives Sasuke red eyes which give him a almost demonic appearence.
Clothes
Sasuke wears darker colored clothes often.
Darkness
When Sasuke attacked the Kage Summit and unveiled Susanoo Gaara actually wonders if this is the power of Darkness. Karin notes during the attack that Sasuke's Chakra is becoming increasingly colder and darker.
Sasuke at one point even says that his eyes only see darkness now.
Revenge
Over the course of the series something reacurring is the escalation of Sasuke's hatred. As his hatred and rage increase his power increases along with (the Curse of Hatred).
In conclusion:
While Naruto is all about Nature and Light, Sasuke is all about Darkness and destruction. This is all just shows the symbolism behind Naruto and Sasuke being Opposites.
