Some questions are being brought up and I wanted to see what people here thought.

Do you agree with the wikia's Swordsmen listings and if so or not why and how do you think this reflects on things like Mihawks' title if BM and Akainu etc. are in fact considered swordsmen? Do you consider people swordsmen who use a sword even if it's not their primary fighting style? Do you agree DF constructed swords should count? What would make Pica more of a swordsman than Burgess or Tamago both of whom have used guns, knives and physical attacks?

Best answer, wiki is based on fans opinions. If big mom can do more damage without a swsord than she can with one, why is she a swordsman
Idk why is Pica a swordsman? That's part of the reason I wanted to get people's opinions. I mean one of her 3 main weapons is a sword and she's shown to use it more than Pica did. Also how about Burgess, we've seen him with a dagger and a pistol similar to how Tamago's used both, one is listed but the other's not when neither have shown to use swords as primary fighting methods.

If you're losing a fight, and you go "Now for my real power" and throw away your sword, you're not a swordsman.
But didn't you just call Pica a swordsman in another thread and he tossed his sword aside to fight with his DF. Cake or eat it?

I would not consider pika a swordsman either.

Ever since zoro was introduced I always thought a swordsman was someone who used a sword only and if they chose to eat a df they were giving up their "swordsman" status.

For example fujitora was a swordsman, and sure he still uses his sword but he uses gravity to enhance his slashes and he rains meteors and holds you in place with gravity... soooo I think by choosing to eat the df he gave up that status of a pure swordsman. Like zoro or mihawk

Even Diamante used his Sword skills with his Devil fruit too. Dofy confirmed that Diamante is the sword guy of the crew.

Nice try but no. At no point does Pica stop using his sword because it's less effective or weaker than another form of him fighting.

Well maybe he is the strongest wielder of a Sword. Devil Fruits dont count but I can see him being Yonko Level. The reason he is not one is the military power.

Right, he just gets rid of it after Zoro tells him it's just a large blunt piece of metal and proceeds to fight with his hands and DF and then relies on a FBH hand attack to end it all. Right.

Except he uses it again after Zoro says that. At no point does Pica demonstrate that he stops using his sword because he fights better with it. In fact, he stops using it for the exact opposite reason: To stall Zoro and avoid directly fighting him

No, I don't, because it is not their primary fighting style. It shouldn't be this way. Wiki should re-consider who are swordsmen and who aren't. Supposedly every swordsman should know enough about swordsmanship. Big Mom shouldn't be labelled as one from my point of view. She sure knows how to use a sword, but it isn't her main fighting style.

@bold, ? Why would he stop using his sword because he fights better with it? No one even said that. He stopped using it because he couldn't beat Zoro with it and felt more confident in his ability to beat Zoro with his DF and FBH attacks, evidenced by his use of DF and FBH attacks throughout the majority of the fight.

These are your words "If you're losing a fight, and you go "Now for my real power" and throw away your sword" Pica was losing the sword fight, got rid of his sword and continued(and ended) fighting Zoro with his body/haki and his DF. It's literally the example you gave. Keep twisting it however you feel you need too to keep you from accepting a contradiction.

I agree with it. People like Brook and Fuji have had their swords well before their devil fruits, so it'd be pretty ridiculous to say they aren't swordsmen. Mihawk's title will always be wonky simply because of Shanks' existing.
