Has anyone read the Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind? They are fabulous. It is a rather long series, but hands down the best series I have ever read. It's better than Harry Potter, Twilight, Percy Jackson, Inheritance series. Yah, I know thats quite a stance, but these books are amazing. They really make you think about the world, and your part in it.

Here is a list of the books in the series, following the correct order:

  1. Wizards First Rule
  2. Stone of Tears
  3. Blood of the Fold
  4. Temple of the Winds
  5. Soul of the Fire
  6. Faith of the Fallen (My personal favorite)
  7. Pillars of Creation
  8. Naked Empire
  9. Chainfire
  10. Phantom
  11. Confessor
  12. Debt of Bones (does not follow order, as it takes place before the current storyline)
Go find the first book and start reading. You'll be hooked immediately. :p

Whoa boy. Inheritance? That really IS quite a stance :D Good thing you haven't mentioned ASoIaF series xd So, could you write a bit of plotline for first book? Is book written in point-of-view style (I damn love that thing)? Setting (our planet - imaginary events or completely new territories)? Make me love it! xd

Yes, Inheritance. :p I have never read A Song of Ice and Fire, so I wouldn't know. However, since you have recommended it, I may go read it.

I dont want to write anything, cause that'll give a lot of information away, which leads to other events in the book. However, I can say that it takes place in new territories.

  1. Midlands
  2. D'hara
  3. Westland
These are the 3 lands.

It is a great series of books & anyone asking what to read 1st I would say the 1st book not just because that is where the story starts but because it really is a self contained story you could read that 1st book & don't read the others & you would be fine but of course the other books are great but for most part they aren't self contained like the 1st book.

This series is incredible im on the naked empire right now and i just cant stop i have to say if you havent read this series then i suggest that you start now.
I agree :D I'm on "The Omen Machine" right now and I've read previous installments with such pace that it bordered with insanity. I, quite literally, read them everywhere - before school, during school, after school. I would go to sleep while reading it and wake while reading it. It's quite the fair warning to mention that, if you have some serious obligations which shouldn't be put away for another time, you shouldn't start reading the series. It's soooooo damn addicting xd

I never finished this series, but it was quite good. Faith of the Fallen was the last one I read.
Hmm, I think Temple of the Winds, and the book where Richard enters the Old World for the first time were my favorites. Well I generally liked all of them. Compared to the rest though, the first seemed 'meh'.
Nicci, Verna, and Cara were my favorite characters. xd
@ OP: Have you ever read the Farseer Trilogy? I guess it's not as adventurous or action-packed as the Sword of Truth, but it's quite a good fantasy series - my favorite.

I finished "The Omen Machine" so I was just wandering if any of you know of some similar books? It needs some action (not necessarily as much as in SoT) and definitely romance (it needs to play same core element as in SoT). Please help!
