It has been two days since we added Gin into our clearing team. From that time, I have found something very peculiar about him: He is a lazy, happy-go-lucky idiot. He sleeps all the time, including the clearing meetings, which bothers some of the high members of the KoB. Why did such a lazy person obtained a «Unique Skill»? That question may never be answered. Either way, is not like we can just discard him from the group, as he is an important asset to the team, or that is what I hope.
After he entered the group, he said "I know the one who got the skill for highest accuracy", since then, he has been discussing in private with such person. I guess he wants to bring this person his own way, though I don't know his goal. It is just strange that «Unique Skills» are coming out of nowhere now, or maybe they were always here? After all, no one would have known of my «Dual Wielding» if it was not for the situation against «The Gleam Eyes».
"Okay, I have finalized the negotiations" Gin said, interrupting my thought process as he walked behind me as I was observing Aincrad from the window of KoB's Headquarters. Of course, I wasn't able to be notified of his presence, so I got a little frightened, grabbing the handle of my sword instinctively.
"COULD YOU STOP THAT?! Anyways, where are we meeting?"
"We are meeting in the 50th Floor in «Sky Forest»."
"Exact location?"
"I will guide you there."
After the preparations were completed, Gin, Asuna, Klein and I teleported to the 50th floor. Gin then walked in front, guiding us to the meeting place.
"Kirito-kun, this could be a trap." Asuna whispered to my right ear as she got a hold of my arm.
"Hrm..." I responded. For more than thought about it, I just couldn't be suspicious of the silver haired man. He may be lazy and an idiot, but he doesn't have the vibe for a traitor. Is rare, trusting someone so much after just meeting him for only two days. It took me a couple months in the beginning of SAO to start trusting a selected few, but why can I trust this man so quickly? Was it because of some strange power or my overwhelming power?
A half an hour after entering the forest, Gin raised his hand, stopping us from moving any further. He turned around, smiled and said. "I'll go, you wait here, it was part of the deal I would go alone. Don't worry, I'll be back in a flash."
I nodded in agreement, and as he said, he flashed out of my field of vision nearly in an instant. Seriously, what a crazy speed of his, I wonder where his love for speed came from.
A couple of minutes after, my «Tracking» skill went through the roof. In an instant, we were surrounded by twenty players. Asuna, Klein and I got in a highly defensive state in an instant, getting our weapons out ready to battle. Just in case, we had some teleporting crystals with us in case. But how twenty players were able to get us in such a pressured situation so easily? It was planned, that I could deduce.
"Kirito-kun.... they are Orange Players!"
"Dammit, how is this possible? Klein replied.
"He betrayed us, Kirito-kun..."
No... I just couldn't believe it. The evidence was clear, but I couldn't accept it.
From the crowd of Orange Players, a certain character that would bring chills even to the strongest warrior appeared.
"PoH..."
"Nice seen you Kirito-kun, or should I say «Twin-Blade Swordsman», I wonder how strong you are with that skill of yours."
"I... Can't....Wait....CUT CUT CUT" said one of the Laughing Coffin members by the name of «Red-Eyed XaXa». PoH, smirking, replied:
"Go ahead, you wish the «Black Swordsman»'s head more than anyone."
Red-Eyed, without a second of hesitation, leaped toward me, trusting his Estoc towards me.
"KIRITO-KUN" Asuna screamed, accompanied with a "KIRITO!" from Klein.
"DIE!!!" said Red-Eyed, diving toward me with full force.
"Starburst...."
Before I was able to activate my sword skill, my brain still needed to recapitulate what my eyes were seen. From nowhere, a man leaped through the woods, activated a sword skill, smashing Red-Eyed in the face two meters before he could reach me with a sword.... no, a scabbard. Red-Eyed was send flying several meters away, the silver haired man landed in front of me, with his back facing me.
"Sorry for being late, she was being a pain."
"GIN!"
"Who are you?" Said PoH. With those words, I knew he never had a pact with Gin.
"Just a lazy swordsman pacing by"
"That attack just now... a «Unique Skill»?!!!"
"Perhaps... who knows?"
"Doesn't matter, all of you will die here. ATTACK"
Immediately after PoH ordered the attack, all of us except Gin got a hold of the teleporting crystals. Gin's smirk made me hesitate about leaving at that moment. All of the Laughing Coffin members through daggers at us, which, knowing them by now, should all have paralyzing poison. There were around forty daggers, so why wasn't Gin scared?
When all the daggers were around five meters away from us, my eyes again caught up something unbelievable. A flashing light appeared from the distance, separating into at least the amount of daggers that were thrown. At that moment, the daggers didn't travel any further. They all were stopped by small rays of light. Energy arrows? How could that be? There are no arrows in SAO, much less a weapon that could shoot them. But right now, there were incandescent light arrows stuck in the floor.
"Hey, you are late"
"I'm sorry for not being as fast as you, Baka~"
A woman, who looked around her twenties, similar to Gin, was standing on top of a branch tree, fifty meters away. She had straight radiant red hair and green irises. She wore a traditional green hunter outfit, similar to "Robin Hood" from tales. What sway me the most, was the weapon she was holding with her right hand.
"A bow..."
