Sweet Delight

I laugh and smile, with this thing,
This beautiful creation, the donut,
Never far from my mind, the chocolate pang,
I savor it, my childish glee overpowering, am I really grown up?

Rushing down the street, to collect,
This godlike confectionery,
At any cost, my stash I will protect,
Those who dislike the donut can go live in the cemetery.

Unlocking the door, keys in the lock, with a grin upon my face,
In anticipation of digging in to more of this sweet delight,
To waste even a single crumb would be a disgrace,
With this, my world is bright.​
